Super Human: The Bulletproof Plan to Age Backward and Maybe Even Live Forever

Biohacking guide
I recently finished reading ‘Super Human’ by Dave Asprey, and I must say, it’s an incredible guidebook for anyone seeking to live a long and healthy life. After losing my mother to breast cancer at the young age of 55, I made a commitment to prioritize my health and longevity in her honor. Dave Asprey’s book not only provided me with valuable knowledge but also helped shape new beliefs and habits that align with my goal. One aspect I particularly appreciate is how Asprey integrates his expertise in supplements, notably through his company Bulletproof, into the book. This not only enhances the learning experience but also empowers readers to immediately implement what they’ve learned. Additionally, his insights into the four key factors that can impact our health—what he refers to as ‘the four killers’—are fundamental for those of us interested in biohacking and optimizing our well-being.Personally, I’m eager to try out many of the hacks and strategies outlined in the book. Overall, ‘Super Human’ is a comprehensive and actionable resource for anyone looking to take control of their health and unlock their full potential.

Are you human Dave?
I'm a long time follower of Dave Asprey and the Bulletproof diet, though admittedly, like most mortals, I'm not 100% compliant due to excuses like lack of funds, human nature to not want to change habits and of course, not yet knowing all of the hacks to get out of my own way. I've managed to be a subscriber to Butcher Box for over 5 years so I'm not a complete failure. But I suppose that is the overall purpose of Dave's quest. Making Biohacking Accessible & Affordable to All. -I'm guessing if there was a supplement we could sprinkle on cheese before consuming it that would inhibit the mold factor and remove casein and hormones, and anything else that's bad in cheese, he would give it a pass....I digress. I suppose I have cheese on my mind because I ate a whole platter of it last night even though I'm in the process of removing cheese from my diet once again... and here I am this morning trying to type with brain fog. I think I've hurt myself enough this time (and I have the knowledge from this book) to actually follow-through the next time I'm tempted to give in to my lazy human nature. So if you're a long time follower, yet you're still struggling with not doing the things you know you should be doing, read; Super Human. Why?It will remind you that you don't have enough money to do every single thing to keep yourself young & energetic so you might as well put your money where your mouth is! And hone in on those things you CAN change, like your diet, sleep & exercise! And if you've ever done the bulletproof/keto diet, you'll see how affordable it is because you're not buying snack foods. It saves money and time, and time is money so it's like it saves you extra money!Back to the book! The book covers A LOT of ground! I really enjoyed the part about the dental care and jaw alignment, thyroid issues, probiotics and prebiotics. And so much more that I've never heard before.I enjoyed the honesty about uses of drugs like heroin (not that I'm going to do it but just the anecdote delivered about it in tiny doses was fascinating). I also enjoyed the part on hormones and the perspective of wanting to have the hormones levels of someone of the age you're trying to be (makes sense) and appreciated the reference to another expert/author for more information on this. I had never thought of wanting to have my hormones levels be in the range of a young person when I'm 50, 90, 150+ but now that makes sense. The ozone and heavy metal sections were great! And the Carbon 60 stuff too! So many interesting nuggets! One negative reviewer stated they felt cheated that Dave told us all to drink Bulletproof coffee and failed to mention Dave's been taking derivatives of Piracetam and modafinal ("smart drugs") for over 20 years. I didn't find this revelation to be disappointing to say the least. Instead I felt a little better about myself. Heck, I've never taken any brain enhancing drugs (or done even 5% of the hacks that Dave has) and I've made it this far, I'm doing pretty good!I have purchased and benefited from so many of Dave's recommendations like:Oura ring -which I think I need Dave to write a book on because I'm not using it to it's fullest potential. I should have probably just started with one of the sleep apps but that would require a nightstand at bed height and a phone that could keep up with the computing all night (my phone is ancient, making this gif almost broke my phone), but that's why I choose the oura ring. It's a good start though and has made me aware of my resting heart rate in correlation to my food & alcohol intake, something I can't know about unless I'm measuring it.The next thing I bought was the True Dark Night Walker glasses. I could have just turned off all the extra lights or replaced them with red lights that would have helped a lot. When you wear TrueDark glasses you realize how little light you actually need to get around before bed, so if you don't have funds to buy them, just practice getting around with as little light as possible and get a couple of red night lights, and maybe just wear your sunglasses while watching the tv.There were so many hacks mentioned in the book that I look at my bank account and am reminded to start with the foundation. Then build up from there. Which is exactly what Dave says to do in the book... on his podcast, on his website and everywhere else. He knows we don't all have $$$ to spend on optimizing our health. But if you don't have the healthy foundation & mitochondria to support it then why bother? So start with that! One review stated that there's no scientific evidence to back up his claims yet there's 40 pages of citations!!! And the stories he presents are not presented as fact, but as just that, a story and an ah-ha... maybe we should look closer at this and why yak butter coffee works... etc. etc. Which is exactly what Dave does and when/if there's no more than just an anecdote then Dave says that.Bottom line:If you appreciate the information shared on any of Dave's free outlets, you'll be happy you read this book. Even if you'll never have full-body stem cell therapy.---An open letter to Dave:I'm selfishly writing this review to get read by you Dave, so I can interview you. Not for my podcast (I don't have one), for your own podcast, it would be called "Are you Human?" I would ask you questions for a mere mortal on a quest's perspective. Like:*Is it possible to have "health" promoting mold? Like is there a Helminth therapy for cheese?*What do you feed Merlin?*If you do hormone therapy, do you have to commit to it for life? Won't it also reduce your body's own natural hormone production?etc.I'm the same age Lana was when you met her, and my husband is much older and we'd like to have a baby. So as much as I joke about cheese and lack of willpower, we're very invested in progressing towards Super Human ability. I live in western WA and could easily visit you at 40-years of Zen or Vancouver Island.Even if I never get to interview you I want to pass along that I found 2 typos on your website for 40 Years of Zen (on my bucket list). On the FAQs 1) "What results to clients typically see?" and 2) under "Do you provide any accommodations or transport?" Hathman should be Heathman. It's the top paragraph of that page.I would have continued to proof read but I had to type this review first.I'd also like to say that I emailed your Santa Monica location about a day visit and getting biohacked but didn't get a response. Maybe they thought I was a loony toon, but I was serious. Also, I'm writing it here just in case. I had emailed your company years ago in regards to wondering if using eye masks on people in a coma could help them recover better while in a hospital. I'm sure any patient who has to sleep in a hospital needs an eye mask at the very least but thought people in a coma could really be measured. I didn't hear back but I know you're busy and must be protected from energy drains.I did receive excellent customer service with a recent issue on a bulletproof product order I received though. In Conclusion:I appreciate all you do and have done to hack yourself and share your findings with the world. You seem to be the perfect "happy accident" to bring all of this information to everyone else with your history of mold, being over weight, nightshade inflammatory issues, hacker, smart, backpacking in Nepal, etc. So many thanks for your time, dedication, curiosity and honesty, you are making a difference and changing lives for the better!

Lots of good information but some of the things he has done or has tried are very dangerous.
I WILL UPDATE THIS TO A FIVE STAR ONCE I'M 180 YEARS OLD!!! Ok I will tell you that I have read this twice over and have learnt a lot of things that I have put into effect. A lot of the things he has done are so unaffordable for the everyday person they are ridiculous to even write about, it makes you feel like you will never get anywhere near 180 years old. There is a lot of things that I have started to do and will continue to do to see if they can make a difference. I will tell you that I have a Bulletproof coffee every morning and can feel the difference it makes. I have probably a 10 percent gain of energy just from this alone. I do use his brain octane oil but buy a different coffee, C60, creamer and collagen powder. Do yourself a favor and do some research on the ingredients for the coffee drink there are products that are equal to what he has but half the price. to use a products to make the Bulletproof coffee would be something that most people can't afford to do on an ongoing basis. Some of the things he does or have done a silly and potentially dangerous to a person. I can recommend as someone who has read the book twice is go through it and pick and choose what you can do on a continuous basis and feel comfortable doing. The one you tip that I've done some research about and have done is having cold showers in the morning it is difficult to start with but once you do it for a few times you don't realize it anymore and you do feel much more awake afterwards. I have done keto diet for the past month and have tried fasting twice so far in the month and it seems like I have gotten more energy after I have fasted.

Une mine d'or
Comment dire...
