The NKJV Study Bible, 2nd Edition

Bought used, but appears to be as new as the day it was made & never used even once. I hate the leather since I’m an animal lover! But I bought it for what’s inside & that has been an eye opener! I’ve started using the references & all the notes & things on whichever page I’m reading. I don’t get far into the verses because there’s so much there concerning most verses to read also. Instead of reading a few chapters of the Bible like I always did, I’m only reading a little ways along, but learning so much I never noticed, never knew, or knew but now I see it even better! It’s a little more intensive if I use all that this Bible has to offer, but I’m finding it’s so worth it! It’s not hard to do, just really slower. But isn’t that the difference between just reading vs studying? And whoever went to school to just read? Every student who wants to learn has to study! I’m finding that I’m seeing everything I hear in the most intense of verse by verse sermons by the most scholarly if preachers! I never thot I could see all that they do in the verses, but I am & it’s only because I’m reading all the study aides that this Bible has right there In it! It’s laid out so anyone can do it, & you can’t help but learn something every time you read in it! I’m no novice to Bible reading & knew as much as most people, but no matter who you are, you’ll find you didn’t know nearly what you thot you did if you use this study Bible the way it was meant to be used by reading everything it has to offer on each verse & go verse by verse & allow yourself to be immersed in it’s depth! I strongly recommend this study Bible for everyone! It is small print & I do have aging eyes, but I had no trouble once I got into it. It was mostly my 1st impression thinking that made the print look too intimidating for my eyes. But I’m guessing there’s probably a large print edition made by this company too if it is a problem. So worth it! I’m also comparing it against the Holman NKJV study Bible & the full color Nelson NKJV studdy Bible to see if this one is lacking any of the information that can be found in the other two or if other two are lacking anything found in this one. I’ll update my findings later on that. This one is easier to handle & use during church if I wanted to than the other two! That’s due to the small print & old style thin Bible page paper making it lighter, & especially the soft pliable cover.

This is a great bible to use for studying the word, praying the word of God and for teaching the word of God with revelation & clarity. It has some of everything like a concordance, teachings & illustrations of Christ, prophecies of the Messiah Fulfilled in Jesus Christ, The Parables of Jesus Christ, The Miracles of Jesus Christ, Prayers of the Bible, Subject Index to Annotations and Features, Charts, In-text Maps and Word studies. It's also leather bond, very easy to travel with and you can use it along with your bible app, cell phone, tablet and laptop etc. Enjoy! :)

The footnotes are wonderful in this Bible. It is a GREAT help to Bible Study. This Bible is a hardback and on the heavy side. We use ours at home as an addition to our study.

This is an amazing bible. There are tons of maps, notes/commentaries on almost every single scripture, timelines, charts, graphs, historical set pieces, and information on the technology of that age. There is an introduction to every book telling about the author, period, an outline of the book, and how that book pertains to Christ. There are also star shapes in the books indicating biblical prophecy and, specifically, whether the prophecy is being foretold or fulfilled. This bible also contains tons (15,000 to be exact) of cross referenced scripture and many different translations of different words giving you deeper meaning of the scripture. Italisized words let you know that those specific words were added in the translation from Hebrew/Aramaic/Greek to English. Most of the words are "the", "was", "to", "there", etc. Nothing major, but a nice feature. Theres lots of good stuff here.The bible is top quality from cover to cover and inside out. The type face is a nice black without being too much contrast with the white page. The color is a pleasure to look at and is a comfortable size with a light blue background where the notes and cross references are making the page very soft on the eyes. The layout is very easy to follow and is very user friendly. The scripture and notes are in two different type faces and points making them both flow very well together and seperately. Theres also a very nice history of the KJV and NKJV of the bible in the introduction as well as other histories and facts on different things in the introduction.The outside of the bible is your typical bonded leather. However, I think this is a better quality than most, but thats just me. The bronze version isnt as bronze as the picture suggests. Its actually more dulled/ faded looking than the picture. Nonetheless, I still love the look of the bronze and how it feels in my hands. The outside of the pages are lined with a shiny gold tint making it look very nice with the bronze cover (I believe all the bonded leather versions are gold outlined, white outlined for the hard covers, and silver for the fake leather/ designer style versions). There are no markings on the front cover or rear cover indicating its a bible, even though its obvious thats what it is, but the front and rear covers are just plain bonded leather. The spine of the bible has "NKJV Holy Bible" written in gold inlay lettering and I beleive it also has "Nelson" (the publisher) written on the spine near the bottom as well, not positive on this though. The bible weighs between 4-5 pounds and is a bigger sized bible thats not too thick.Overall, this is a great product with TONS of great study notes, maps, charts, commentaries, information on each book and the period it takes place in. People who have a hard time reading regular sized bible font (8pt.) may have difficulty reading this bible. However, there is a large print version. My only gripe with this bible is page quality. To cut down on thickness and weight the publisher made the pages very thin. You can see whatevers on the next page before actually turning the page. Although its not nearly as bad as those cheap small bibles churchs give out for free, its still a small nuisance. The pages also make me feel like I may accidently rip them or mangle them when flipping back and fourth between NT and OT cross referenced scripture, but this has yet to happen and is just my personal opinion. All in all I HIGHLY recommend this bible to anyone looking for extended knowlege and/or a better understanding on God's holy Word.I would give this 4.5/ 5 stars due to the page thinness. However, the minor drawback of this near perfect bible should not sway your mind in the least if you still undecided. In my personal opinion I think this is the best study bible available.

This is the 3rd time Ive bought this bible. It is amazing. It has tons of notes, maps, charts and just all around really informative. It is great for studying and learning. I use this one myself and ive sent it to 2 people. It doesnt have the fancy cover but i personally like that. If you want to study Gods word you wont be disappointed. Best 32$ i ever spent. Ever.

This is a wonderful study Bible with decent size print and lots of good notes. Just love the introduction to each book describing the author, the times, and even an outline. Throughout this study Bible are some interesting cultural notes and there's a huge concordance and a subject index as well. There are beautiful maps and I haven't even looked at the enclosed CD yet. I do own other bibles and this one is a great all in one study tool. And the New King James is very, very readable without the "thees" and the "thous". Thanks Thomas Nelson for such a complete and helpful version! It's a bargain at any price, really!

This is a beautiful bible, absolutely gorgeous and well made. However, it is a heavy, bulky bible and if you have any dexterity issues, you will have difficulties reading this.

I was so sorry that I had to send this bible back, it is a really nice one and very cheap, but it was too heavy for me to handle. If I had younger hands it would have been lovely.

In addition to this Bible's excellent study notes, maps, references etc., I found the book itself to be made of great material, pleasing to the eye and of good size for me to use and study from. Highly recommended!
