Fantastic skirmish game
I absolutely love this game it’s simple easy quick and impactful everything just flows really well teaching new players is super easy and after 2-3 rounds your immediately going back and forth with each other setup and tear down is lightning quick and games are also super fast so playing with multiple friends is great I will most definitely be getting the other teams for this and I hope steamforged games does more with the game too

Easy to Learn, Hard to Master
This game has a great cross between warhammer style combat and strategic board game decision making. This starter set comes with two Warbands which is a great way to learn the game while having fun. The model are well made with simple beautiful design. The smooth, clean lines of the models are well defined which makes them easy to paint even if your a novice like me.

Pick this game up! After you get the hang of it you'll want more
Super detailed miniatures each looks amazing. Honestly it's hard to play at first. Once you get the hang of the game you can fly through it. It is real fun it's not eggzactly like D&D well it's not a D&D game. Almost as good. Time to pick up more creature sets to see how the rest play.

Good game for a bit of fun.
Godtear is a tabletop skirmish board game for two players. With its dynamic scenarios and pre-assembled, pre-coloured miniatures; 2 players battle against each other, last man standing.Eternal Glade is 1 of 2 starter packs for the Godtear series, the game board is set on frostlands, it has two clans, Crystalmancer and Queen of the frozen waste. Each clan has its own detailed miniature which can be painted if you wish. The games come with loads of high quality dice and tokens for each player.I found the game is a mixture of dice rolling and tug of war style; where one player takes their actions then rolls dice to do damage then the other player takes their actions then rolls dice to do damage, justling for power, positions, and a win.The basic flow of the round is:-P1 Moves for positionP1 Attack success "yes or no" by rolling (the number of dice is on your character profile card)P1 Damage by rolling dice (number of dice is on your character profile card)P1 Add any victory pointP2 Moves for positionP2 Attack success "yes or no" by rolling (the number of dice is on your character profile card)P2 Damage by rolling dice, (the number of dice is on your character profile card)P2 Add any victory pointWhichever side the victory tracker is; gets a point (this is the Tug of war element)continue this for the next rounds.Basic fighting mechanisms are:-The defender, states how many dodges they have. The attacker (with the dice) will do damaged after taking away dodge***The defender, states how many protection they have,The attacker (with the dice) will do damaged after taking away protection***Example Attacker profile is Accuracy: 5 dice Attack: 6 dice Defender profile is Dodge: 2 dice Protection: 2 dice*** Attacker rolls a 4 using 5 dice (so atk Accuracy: 4 - def Dodge: 2 = 2; a hit for attacker) Attacker rolls a 5 using 6 dice(so atk Attack:5 - def Proctection: 2 = 3; damage 3 to the defender)I found the fighting mechanism quite boring, it feels like the defender sits there and takes damage and the attacker has the upper hand as the defender can't fight back. One of the exciting parts of dice rolling battles is that both players roll dice together; one to try and defend and one to try an attack, the elation when the underdog wins the battle is missing here. All in all, this game won't appeal to most light gamers or gateway gamers; I feel these types of games can be difficult to get into. I would say this is a medium weight game, maybe picked up by players who just want to roll the dice and have a fight. In my opinion, I don't think full D&D players will like this game as there is no dungeon master, nor storytelling.I am on the fence to recommend this, let me explain, the board game hobby is very selfish, meaning everyone has their own types of games they like to play, whether its a Light gamer all the way to D&D, I wouldn't want to influence people into this game if it is not right for their playing styles... However, I would recommend you check a playthrough of the game to see if you think you will like this game.Pros- High-quality productions- Detailed miniature- Quick game approx 40mins- Quick set up and tidy up- Mid-pricedCons- Lots of Downtime between go- Genre-specific- Unbalance Fighting dice mechanisms (can set house rule to rebalance this)- Many expansion to buy

Excellent quality materials and printing, but not my style of gameplay
The board looks and feels amazing, the design is really nice and the hexes are really well blended in, so much so, that it is sometimes very difficult to discern them if the underlying art is darker. The board is very thick and seriously sturdy which is really nice. The board also features double-sided art for a different mood/mission.The miniatures are also very well made, they are made out of decent plastic and are moulded precisely so the features are really detailed, the quality is better than you would expect for the price.Other components such as dice and cards are also very well made and will last a long time. Tokens are ok, nothing special. The art of the legends and their followers could have been better but fits the theme well. The presentation is amazing until you open the box and see how much space is wasted. After you pop all the tokens out, there is no space to put them back in and the box can't be closed completely as before opening. The miniatures don't take up that much space and the spacing between them seems to just waste the room for the other components. As for the gameplay, I am not a huge fan of these type of miniature games, but this one seems to miss the mark. The turns go quickly but most of the time nothing really happens since everything is based on RNG. The powers don't seem to be as strong, especially the ultimate skills. Most of the time, the rounds end up with no damage and if one person forgets to place the banner the round is basically lost. It definitely looks like that it needs more than just one faction per side as the gameplay feels really weak in this case. From reviews, all seemed to suggest at least 2 factions per side for a better experience and I think that is the case when I had a chance to play only 1 base set.Overall, it is a pretty decent game that is lacking the expansions, so if you are just planning on using it as is (base set) then I wouldn't recommend it, but if you are planning on buying more factions and playing with more players then I feel it is a really good quality set to add to your game collection.

Difficult to understand but seems great
I will try to be fair. This is a well thought, and made board game. We have little experience with board games as a couple but with the baby going to sleep at 19:30 and us wanting to spend some quality time together, we decided to give them a go. Due to our lack of experience, we found this game very complicated and we still aren't sure how to play it. My partner spent half an hour reading and still wasn't sure. We both suffer from ADHD and struggle to concentrate to read all the rules etc. Two of our good friends are obsessed with board games and we are waiting for the next time they come around to have a read, explain it to us and hopefully then we will be able to enjoy it. So the game seems to be good, it's just us not being patient enough to read all the information.

GODTEAR
Delivered by Amazon in a branded cardboard box. After reading all the product info When I saw this I knew I had to get it for my son. This is a board game of two or more players, in some ways similar to the dungeons and dragons boardgame. A strategy and imagination game that will keep him happy for hours. Suitable for players over the age of 8. However I would suggest this for diehard older fantasy game playersHappy to recommend.
