Very Nice!
This item is very nicely finished, and seems to fit nicely into all of my trumpets. It also seems to work just fine with all of my cornet mouthpieces.I ordered this because I have to play taps for an event where I'm going to be very close to the attendees. I was hoping to get a softer, more mellow sound by using a cornet mouthpiece in my Getzen bugle. This seems to be just the ticket. I'm amazed at the difference in sound between a trumpet MP and a cornet MP...even of the same size (i.e. 3c, 7c, etc).

Does what it should
It seats well in my King Liberty trumpet and I can use the Wick in both the cornet and trumpet without having to buy the trumpet version of this mouthpiece.

Denis Wick Cornet Mouthpiece to Trumpet Adapter
Great product,at a great price. Fast shipping. Much better than the no longer made Bach Cornet to Trumpet adapter. Do not be fooled by the Bach Adapter picture. You will be sent something else.Bach must have discontinued the original Bach Cornet to Trumpet adapter. The Denis Wick Adapter is the over best. Better made with craftsmanship quality. Easy to remove and insert.

Serves its purpose. Could have been a bit cheaper ...
Serves its purpose. Could have been a bit cheaper but I figured you couldn't go wrong with a Wick product.

Works but long
This is not a svelte design; it is solid. It works: a cornet mouthpiece fits in one end, and the other end fits in a trumpet shank. Due to the thickness of the walls, the cornet mouthpiece does not seat as deeply in the adaptor nor does the adapter shank seat as deeply in the trumpet as I had expected. So, you will have to push your tuning slide almost all the way in to play tunefully. This is not a major issue unless you tend to play very flat, already. I have never used another adapter, so this may be the norm, as they may not want to make them too thin and thus weak. All in all, if you play both trumpet and cornet but do not want to have to buy duplicate mouthpieces, this is a reasonable alternative. If you play piccolo, most of the better ones come with both trumpet and cornet lead pipes, which can further encourage investing in one of these and cornet mouthpieces rather than duplicate mouthpieces. I doubt, however, a professional would be inclined to make such a compromise, due to some audiological scientific stuff that far surpasses my level of skill.
