A very erudite Commentary; evangelical and very informative. I suppose that if it has any drawback it might be the quality of the paper, but then, were it to have a better quality paper it would be a far heavier, thicker volume, and more expensive to buy . This commentary is well worth the money, and I value it highly.

Wer eine KJV (King James Version) besitzt, ist mit diesem Bibelkommentar gut bedient. Er bezieht sich direkt auf diese Übersetzung/ Version, ist also in Verbindung mit dieser auch am effektivsten, wobei man ihn sicher auch mit anderen lesen könnte. Es wird zu so ziemlich jedem Vers etwas geschrieben und je nach Signifikanz gibt es halt mehr (mehrere Sätze/ Abschnitte) oder weniger Text (Zusammenfassung mehrerer Verse in einen Abschnitt). Natürlich wird dieser Kommentar nicht so viel Inhalt haben, wie beispielsweise 'Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible' der einige Bände umfasst, ist aber dafür, meiner Meinung nach, auch nicht so eigenwillig wenn es um die Interpretation, Exegese und der Gleichen geht. Außerdem springt dieser Bibelkommentar nicht von jedem zweiten Vers zu Jesus und versucht zwischen den beiden einen Zusammenhang festzustellen, was beim werten M. Henry sehr stark der Fall zu sein scheint. Vor jedem Buch der Bibel, dass kommentiert wird gibt es eine Einleitung in der auf den Autor, die Hintergründe usw. eingegangen wird. Dann gibt es eine kurze Übersicht mit den Oberthemen. Auch solche Fragen wie: Wie lang waren die Tage in Genesis?, war die Flut bei Noah lokal oder global?, oder ''Übersetzungsfehler'' wie in Apg 9,7 und 22,9 wo das griechische Wort akouo beide Male als ''hören'' übersetzt wird uvm., werden teils in der Einleitung teils in den einzelnen Abschnitten angesprochen.Qualitativ ist das Buch, so wie es mit amerikanischen Büchern halt so ist, nicht so gut wie man es in Deutschland gewohnt ist. Mit den Seiten muss man schon vorsichtig umgehen und auch das ''Klebekonzept'' scheint anders, da hier nur Front und Rückseite, aber nicht der Rücken mit dem Einband verklebt sind. Dies ist für mich aber nicht Grund genug diesem Buch dafür einen Stern abzuziehen.Ich bin soweit sehr zufrieden und habe schon einige Bibelstellen damit detailliert durcharbeiten können.
