Smith & Nephew CICA Care Silicone Gel Sheeting 5 x 6 Inch, Sterile

I wanted the cream so I sent them back and ordered cram. That did not work on my old scars though. But then my scar from surgery is 4 years old.

I stood up fast right and whacked my head on an open kitchen cabinet, and the corner of it sliced right down the middle of my forehead, at least a 1.5 inch long cut (and 12 stitches) -- trust me this has not been fun. I cut some of this gel piece to fit and within ONE DAY I noticed a big difference. Now I'm putting Maderma (or another silicone gel cream) under it and sealing it in with this gel sheet. After 3 nights there is still a good amount of healing and closing going on -- man, it looks sooo much better. To the point that i'm able to cover it up with makeup better. The scar is now much flatter and a little lighter. This is a thicker gel material, so nighttime is better than daytime to wear it, but that said, it is easily re-useable, I've gone 2-3 days with the same piece. So you will definitely get your money's worth out of one sheet, depending on how big your scar area is.

I purchased this product to use on double knee replacement scars. I had to cut in half and they were a little short for a knee replacement incision which were about 7 inches long. The product worked great and soon my scars' length had reduced so the 6 in. sheet fit perfectly. I have used the Scar Away sheets and this product works better, is easier to clean, and was better on scar reduction. I was able to use this purchase about 5 weeks, using 24/7. I would highly recommend it to others. When I reordered this one was not available and I ordered from another vendor. It was from the same manufacturer so the fact that the sheet had laser cuts throughout the sheet rendered it was worthless. That would be from poor quality control from manufacturer. It was totally useless because it split apart in multiple places. Now I am afraid to reorder because you open it it's yours. I did want to review the first purchase of the product because it worked great but the second was a bust. I wrote a review on the other one I ordered if you want to check it out.

I have a large 6 week old zigzag scar across my bicep which left a "nipple" along with a thick scar. I've been using this silicon bandage for about 3 weeks. It appears to be helping to flatten the scar. I considered other silicon bandages that were cheaper, but I'm glad I chose this one. The larger sheet allowed me to cut the size to get better coverage. There is no adhesive, but it has a stickiness on one side that holds it on very well. I use a stretchy band to hold it in place when I sleep or when I'm more active. So far, I've been able to use the same bandage, only taking it off to shower and work-out. I use a drop of dish soap and lukewarm water to clean and renew it. I can feel the stickiness returning as I dry it. I blot it dry between a folded washcloth, then lay it back on its piece of original backing and store it in a plastic bag until I'm ready to reapply it. It's shown no signs of degradation and I feel I could use the same piece of bandage indefinitely. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I don't yet know how well it will work on the scar, though I'm cautiously optimistic. And, being see-through it's easy to see the exact placement on the scar.

I can’t comment on the effectiveness of the product because I purchased it to use on a keloid that is still actively growing. (Keloids are much more difficult to get rid of than regular or hypertrophic scars.) I’ve used a lot of different products out there and it took me a long time to decide if I wanted to spend the money on this one so I thought I should make a comment about it.As far as size goes- best I’ve found. Most of the other stick on products are too small to use on my scar. I was able to cut mine in half. (Gives you an idea of the size of my keloid.) It is easy to cut and depending on how large the scar is that you are covering, it can be exceptionally cost effective compared to other products.Ability to wear- I have very sensitive skin and other products make my skin rash. This one didn’t. I occasionally got some itchiness, but nothing too significant.I never had any problems with sweat making it come off. Other patches I’ve worn comes off very easily.It may not have gotten rid of my keloid but I’m still going to give it 4 stars for the reasons above.

I bought this terribly expensive gel strip and while I was waiting for it to come in, found that Walmart (and Amazon) had 'Dr. Blaine's Scar Care'. I bought it from Walmart and it contained a silicon gel strip that I tried out while I waited for the one I ordered to come in. It worked really great and was not real noticable (I had a thyroidectomy which made a scar that was very obvious). The scar was annoyed and red-even a month after surgery. I thought that when this other gel strip would come in the mail (which was 4 times the price), it would really be terrific. Well, it came in and after trying it for a day, I threw it in the garbage. What a waste of money for me! First of all, there is a pattern on the gel that screams out 'look at me' to all who see it. Also, it doesn't adhere as well or provide the proper hold to keep my scar from moving (which was causing a keloid to form). I would definately not recommend this product buy try the cheaper version as you will probably be much happier.

It's removed all the hyperpigmentations that I had developed postsurgically 9 years ago, despite the fact, I didn't follow its instructions of use completely. I cleaned the patch once in two-three weeks. I love it.

I waited to write this review to see my results. I bought these on my doctors recommendation and I cannot tell you how happy I am with the results. My scars are hardly noticeable.This does cost a lot for one but that’s all you’ll need is one. You just cut them to size, wash them let them dry and reapply. My surgery was in June 2020 and I used the same strips for the 4 months recommended by my doctor.

I like that when I got this package it was bigger than I expected which means I would have it available for use if I use it properly for a good amount of time. I read comments about this and wasn't sure if I should buy it but I decided to buy it anyways. I got a new packages product that worked fantastic and stuck to my like glue! I would recommend to do some research about this product before using it in order to use it properly and get effective use out of it! $50 was cheap compared to other places but definitely buying this product again in the future!
