Comfortable, attractive, great shirt for cycling in sunny hot weather.
I prefer to use clothes instead of sunscreen when I can and on those body parts I can since clothes can’t sweat off or wear off in the middle of a ride. I had some good long-sleeve shirts from REI the last couple of years but they were hard to keep clean and were beginning to wear out. Although I would have liked to have replaced them with long-sleeve hot-weather shirts with front pockets (for use while cycling on recumbent bikes), I can’t seem to find any even from manufacturers that specialize in recumbent gear. So I decided to try these. I usually wear L or XL shirts. I bought these in L and they fit me perfectly (5’10”/200lbs). I think the XL would have been a little loose and blousey on me, the L isn’t snug it just fits right. The colors I chose are white, yellow, and orange. All three are bright and reflect enough light to be very visible and not get too hot when under direct sunlight. I like the yellow and orange more than the white which is borderline translucent. I have received several compliments on the yellow and orange shirts in the couple of weeks I’ve been using them. It’s been darn hot and humid here in NYC the last couple of weeks and these shirts have done their job: I’m not getting any UV exposure through the material, they feel nice on my skin, and the sweat is wicked away very efficiently. I wash them in cold water with other clothes using normal laundry detergent with no softeners, then 20 minutes in the dryer with the other clothes, then I pull them out of the dryer (leaving the other clothes in the dryer) and hang them to finish drying. I hope they don’t stretch out at the cuffs and neck over time, and last as long as the REI shirts did. I wish Vapor would make long pants using this material! edit: I've had my three Vapor shirts for 6 weeks now and still really like them. I've had to snip a few threads here and there but even though they look cheaply made they're holding together pretty well under almost daily use. Two issues: 1- If the slightest bit of bike schmutz makes contact with the shirt it becomes a permanent stain – nothing I've tried will get it out. 2- The shirts are a little delicate: I stumbled into a concrete wall when dismounting from my bike making contact with my shoulder and the shirt developed a (small) hole in that shoulder. I sewed it up and it's still usable but I don't think any other shirt I've ever owned would have shown damage that that insignificant incident. I'd still buy more, I do plan to buy more next year. I like the yellow and orange a lot more than the white (which as I stated above is a little translucent and also shows off the unwashable dirt more clearly). At this price I think I have to accept that they are going to last me only one or two warm seasons of near-daily use rather than three to five years as I became accustomed to with my previous long-sleeve sun-protection cycling shirts that cost 4x as much.

The Winner By A Nose
This spring, I've worn 5 different new SPF 50 long sleeved shirts for running. I'm 5-11, 160, 32 W, 38 Chest, 33 sleeve, 16 neck. I run in the mornings when it's cooler. None of these are as light and airy as my Columbia SPF-50 fishing shirt that I mow in but, of course, that's a button-up. Gym People - the thickest/heaviest of the bunch. Fits fairly loosely and the sleeves are long, so they easily cover your hands if you wish. Not that breathable or quick-drying. Best from about 50-55 degrees or if there's some wind and its closer to 60. The others are superior for warmer temps. Columbia - softer and a bit lighter, also breathes better. Has designed hand-covers. Fits a bit more snugly than the Gym P. Fine for mid-50's to low 60's. Coolibar - lighter and more breathable yet. Fits about like the Columbia. No hand covers and the sleeves aren't as long as the Gym P. You can wear them over your hands but there's a bit of stretch. Ideal range would be high 50's to mid-60's. The winners = Mountain Hard Wear Crater Lake and Vapor Apparel. The lightest of the bunch and the most breathable. The VA dries faster than the Crater Lake; the CL is a bit softer. The CL has built-in hand covers; the VA doesn't but the sleeves are long enough to cover. Both work well into the 70's. All 5 are good shirts. For cooler or windy days, I's take the Columbia. For hotter or more humid days, I think the VA might just edge out the Mountain. The Coolibar is a good do-everything choice.

Good Shirt
I ordered two of these for a trip to Crazy Horse Monument, Mt. Rushmore, Grand Tetons, etc. I didn't want to have to grease up with sunscreen every day. Prior to ordering, I measure myself (primarily chest - be honest with yourself on your gut, etc.). In doing so, I ordered XL and the fit was perfect. The material may be slightly heavier than some, but I can't complain. Shirts are very comfortable, and did the job perfectly. Temps on the trip were in the mid '70s, but UV at altitudes over 7000 ft. can be very damaging. No burn at all, and the shirts stayed dry. The only negative is the stitching is coming appart at the wrist on both shirts/one arm (two different ways). One is separating a bit vertically up the sleeve; the other is around the wrist. It's may not be so much a quality issue as the way I used the shirt. At rest stops on the tour, I pushed the sleeves up my forearms to keep the wrist area dry while I washed my hands. This stretched the wrist areas significantly (I'm not Arnold Swarzenegger, but have decent sized forearms). I'm sure this stressed the stitching a good bit in those areas, so quality issue? Not sure I should really expect more but I'm marking 4-stars just because of that. I would buy these again, as they are reasonably priced, decent quality shirts that do the job.

High Value to Price Ratio
Nice shirt for the sun. Very light material. Perfect for wearing on a hot day and keeping your skin from burning. I will use these for golf and fishing in the midday hot southern sun. The fit is a just slightly smaller than a normal XL so you may want to order one size up. This shirt is a great bargain compared to similar high end sun protection big logo shirts at four times the price. You could pay a whole lot more and get the same or less. Bang for the buck is big if this shirt holds up over time. I am ordering a few more in different colors. The material is comfortable next to the skin so you may find yourself wearing it as a base layer. Seems to wash up nice. I have looked for a good long sleeve sun shirt for a long time and most of them are too heavy or way overpriced with obnoxious corporate logo's making you a human ad billboard. I think you will find this sun shirt to be just the right product for the hot sun. This is my first Vapor product. I have been wearing these long sleeve Vapor shirts on the golf course in the hot summer sun this past week and they keep you cool and comfortable with minimum sweat factor. The fit is great and they seem to give easily with activity. Very impressed with this product - highly recommended!

Love, love, love!
I think I now have eight of these shirts. I cherish them for the hot and buggy seasons. They are cool and dry quickly. The fabric is lightweight, and feels nice, like a silk, but is cooler than silk. The fabric is also resilient, washing well, and not prone to ripping. Stains come out well. I didn’t get it for the UV blocking, although that’s a benefit. I got the first order as an experiment because of the biting insects, black flies and mosquitoes, that tear me up. The long sleeves are a big help, and I get zero bites through the fabric. I don’t like putting on bug spray, so this is hugely valuable for me! Overall, there is no down side. I love them. I highly recommend them, and will purchase more. I wish there was a teal color. Purple, too.

Good shirt - but pearl gray a little see through when wet
Overall this is an excellent swim shirt. It's looser than most rash guards (which is what I wanted - already have some rash guards) - so it's comfortable to wear around outside the pool area to protect from the sun. Sleeves are a little long, but that's ok, easy to push them up and for those with longer limbs you'll appreciate it. For SPF protection, these seem to do well. Wore one of these (in blue) on a beach vacation, no problems with sunburn under the shirt. Another thing I like is that the neck opening is not too big (so you don't get too much sun there). It's less coverage than my rash guards, but more than what appears out there in one of the other brands of swim shirt. To me, this is a good balance between comfort/wearability outside a pool area vs. a rash guard. Also, did not get as hot as I would have expected given it was a synthetic long sleeve (I think the looser fit helps vs. a rash guard) I wore these in water and they were fine - didn't particularly float up as I was worried given the looser fit. Overall, I would recommend this product, a good solid product at a very fair price. I have this in another color which is great. My only knock on the pearl gray is that when wet it is a little see through. This may or may not bother you given it's a men's swim shirt. I returned mine, no problem and have other colors which are good.

Snug fit but this shirt really works!
i am a big guy that needs a real 4x shirt, and i prefer the loose fitting ones, this shirt was snug and i immediately tossed it to the side. It's more like a 3.5x plenty long just snug fitting A few days later i figured id at least try it while mowing the grass .It was 92 outside full sun with on an off breese. This shirt never got as hot as my cotton shirts, and every time the wind blew even a little the shirt got very cool.I sweat heavily but the shirt never became saturated with sweat unlike those cheap white cotton t shirts do., The wicking evaporation action really works to cool you down.If you can work by a fan it's perfect ! Once i got wet in the shirt and it dried very quickly..As far as the spf 50 rating i'd say that is about right I burn very easily and after working outside for about 4 hours my shoulders were very red not burned but very close, my arms got some sun also but not burned. If i go shirtless i am burned in an hour so this shirt does significantly reduce the light getting through but does not stop it. I now wear this shirt every time i work outside go boating or on the jetski.I give it a 2 out five for the fit( i like loose shirts), but a 5 out of 5 for function , i love this shirt for chores in the florida heat! It's like a cool towel and sunblock all in one.

Love the Coyote brown color.
Love this shirt! I have several brands of sun shirts but this one is undoubtedly the best by a good margin. First the color Coyote is a gorgeous gold color which looks great in person The fit for me is perfect I'm 6'1" 215 lbs mol. with long arms, no gut and athletic build. It just lays on your skin and conforms to your body. The fabric is very comfortable and does not cling even during sweat cycles. What I found different about this shirt is , while working in the 90-95 degree plus Florida sun for hours on end is I didn't really get soaked in sweat till I stopped moving. This is what separates this shirt from my other sun shirts. Hanes,Baleaf, Habit, and Koofin. While those shirts are pretty good this one is much better I was protected from the sun's Ray's and was able to keep working without burning up. Another thing during and after working I did not stink! The Hanes shirts while very good develop a bad odor when soaked. Vapor brand let's the breeze come thru to cool you off and has normal body odor smell not excessive or unusual. Ok to sum up: Quality is top notch with quality stitching throughout. We Very comfortable and looks good. Works as advertised. I will buy several more for work and keep some for casual wear. As a landscaper I am rough on clothes. The ones for work will get stained from grass, dirt sap, grease, gas, etc just like any other shirt. Very glad I tried these and am happy with my purchase. Highly recommend!

Comfortable sun protection in warm weather
Fit as expected, sleeves not too tight, so easier for body to breathe in the heat. Bought for sun protection during rowing sessions on the water. Very happy with using the top for this purpose. Will be buying another one.
