Ecoline by Royal Talens is a line of dye-based inks that flow and perform like watercolor, but remain much more vibrant once dry. I love them when I want luminous, vibrant pops of color in an illustration and the work perfectly alongside traditional watercolors. They're lovely and now that the bottles have dropped built in, they're even more convenient to use.Please note that, as with other dye-based inks, Ecoline colors are not lightfast. They will fade if exposed to direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time. This means that while they are perfect for illustration or hand lettering that will be scanned onto the computer, they aren't an ideal choice for work to be directly displayed or sold as orthogonal art. As long as you understand what you're buying, you won't be disappointed.Ecoline is directly comparable to Dr. Ph. Martin's Radiant Liquid Watercolors, which I have used in the past and are also very nice, but Evoking comes in at a lower price point. I like both, but find Ecoline to be a better value. The colors are exceptionally concentrated, so a little goes a long way. Ecoline also offers its colors in brush pens, which some may also find convenient.The attached abstract heart illustration was created for Inktober 2018 using about 75% Ecoline from this set and 25% traditional watercolor (Daniel Smith and Finetec).

These paints are really the best. I am a beginner-to-intermediate watercolor hobbyist, and have tried a few different kinds of each of the types of watercolors-solids, liquid tubes, and now these. And these are my favorite! The colors are bold and rich, even when mixed with a lot of water. I think they would be ideal for illustration or lettering, but wet on wet seems to look gorgeous as well. I know there are a lot of singular bottles of ecoline liquid watercolors you can buy separately from this set, but the only one I felt like I really needed was white, which is not included. I will say that you should get a dropper set or syringes to extract the color from the bottles and put into your palette. Pouring it out DOES NOT WORK and will cause a big mess and a waste of precious pigment. I love these paints though, and will definitely sing their praises!

I am a huge fan of ecoline, as far as a rating for the product alone, it has 5 stars in my book. However, I am giving it 3 because of the overall experience. I ordered 8 ecoline inks. They took forever to arrive and when they did one leaked all over the package. A quarter of it is gone. 😕 And another bottle I opened had a broken pipette. Very disappointing.

I absolutely love these. They seemed a little pricey at first, but they will last me forever. The blend so well and are so fun to use with traditional brushes and aqua pens, and even on my brush tip markers. They are so smooth and the colors are deep and bright.

These watercolor inks are a delight to use! The colors are beautiful and mix together to create even more stunning colors. The dropper feature of the bottle cap is very useful, especially when mixing colors...it's nice to have the dropper right there rather than having to have a separate dropper available when mixing colors.

These are my favorite watercolors. They take some getting used to because they are liquid and not pans or tube. Definitely worth it, and great color choices! Also it comes with black, but not white! Make sure to buy a single white Ecoline to be able to create the full spectrum of colors!

*I haven't used them yet and I will update this once I do*As far as shipping and packaging they came perfectly intact, only one bottle was slightly tilted but the case they come in prevents them from laying entirely on their side so no spilling! I bought them as a gift for my husband for our anniversary and they are definitely gift ready, they are really beautiful and nicely packaged. Bigger than I expected but that is just because I hadn't put much thought into how large each bottle is. And I was very pleased with shipping, I bought them in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic so Amazon made it very clear that shipping would likely be delayed and to my surprise they showed up 3 days before they said they would!

I watched a video of an artist using this product to color crepe paper. It works just as shown. The color can be adjusted by adding water and when added to water, dissolves immediately. Highly recommend

Happy with these!Not used them before but wanted to give them a try. Must say I’m not disappointed!Nice selection of colours, look great, easy to use with being able to measure out amount wanted because of the convenient dropper. Less waste.I made myself up a small colour chart so I can see the true colour of each one - handy for reference for each painting.I would recommend that you buy a white ink as this doesn’t come with one. I didn’t buy one but I will order one. Needed of course for changing/mixing colour tintsI would recommend
