Moderately priced digital and CD turntables but laser came with a critical issue
Lots of features in a moderately priced digital and CD turntables Scratching back spinning and sound effects all included. I hooked these up to the Native Instruments Tracktor Audio 6. compatible and not difficult to operate. Using a Vestax PMC 280 mixer and Mac Book Pro.UPDATE:The laser has since stopped functioning with very low usage.

OK - not brilliant
In truth, I haven't used it enough to give it a full evaluation but I have used in performance 3 times. That said there are a couple important things that I think are lacking or underperform on this unit. #1 - the track search function is glitschy and prone to skipping. That might be livable if you mostly program your tracks, but it's not helpful when you are mixing on the fly. Two: it deserves to have a better outbound volume control for earphones. and 3 - since you have to use this with a mixer/amplifier - having 1/4 jacks in addition to RCA's would make it more readily compatible with a lot of the existing equipment in clubs, etc. As it is? you can bring your own full set-up, or be sure to carry a supply of good quality cables in a variety of formats if you're planning to tap into house PA's or other systems.

Lot of pluses and a few minuses
Interesting choice of a secondary USB thumb drive port on the back instead of an SD card slot on the top. Note, only the top USB drive port can send out the link on the back, and with enough units linked it is possible to create some weird breakdowns of the file structure reading protocols, especially if you've got multiple drives linking and at the end of the strings of links you're linking into the rear port. Just be aware.Amazing jog wheels. Tall, fluid, grippy, and feel every way you would want, even if there are no options for adjusting the simulated slipmat friction (i.e. pickup abruptness vs spin back capability) and the jog pitch bend is obviously still time-based and not rate-based (a.k.a. progressive jog bend)... the latter is sort of an acquired taste and may better emulate vinyl.Great layout and button assignments. Not overly-complicated button combos.Firmware is not glitchy. Track scanning is consistent, unlike the Versadeck.Unlike some other countries' brandings for this Hanpin design, unfortunately, the firmware has never been updated and the pitch resolution is still only 0.1% in internal mode. This is my biggest gripe here.Unlike the even smaller & CD-less DJ Tech version, there is apparently no track scanning by way of the jog wheel.Sound quality from the internal stuff being done to it, as far as assuming the DA converters are all the same on the Hanpins, seems the least processed-sounding compared to the American Audio and the DJ Tech. It's a little harder to know for sure with the DJ Tech, since it lacks a SPDIF output, but the American Audio to my ear is some where in the middle, but does so with far more features than the other two.And finally, as with all of the Hanpins still in 2016, there is no visual representation of the track density on the bottom of the screen like the later versions of the CDJ1000 and the Denon SC2900/3900. I do not like moving waveforms, but a crude track density graphic at the bottom of the LED/VFD would be welcome for quickly finding the breakdowns and drops like you can see on a vinyl record.Nonetheless, like all the Hanpins it is certainly usable.P.S. Don't cheap out on flash drives or USB cables. It makes a difference with the Link on the Hanpins, particularly the flash drives. Faster, name brand one can transmit across multiple units faster. Non-name brand flash drives will tend to have buffer problems because they don't transmit data across the link fast enough to keep the buffer full.

my stanton cmp800
i had numark 808 cd turntables before and they had good effects, scratch and an unbeaten pitch bend which locked in any key. but they only played cd's.!!the stanton cmp800 is very fun with some extra features and more. price best for $350. this seller rocks!I love the 2 usb ports, my library of music goes on there- i dont need to use the cd player. it all scratches, rewinds, loops, samples. the pitch don't lock in any given key- just normal playback can stretch and shorten. the pitch still goes fast and slow though. I still love this unit anyway. 4 sample pads trigger in playback with que for manual sample adjustment on the wheel. plus each of 4 samples can loop beyond 5 second sampler mode. so you can have 4 independent loops edited through combined steps between 4 sample buttons, que and in out reloop. which is pretty cool. easy fast forward and rewind skip buttons. and usb can hold alot of mp3's or wave. i noticed it even played my wmp files. I enjoy my stanton cmp800 alot.

Worth it for the USB and usability
After 3 years, the cue buttons are a bit more difficult to press. I predicted this, as they're already a lot "gummier" feeling that a pioneer products to begin with. These were really worth the money I paid for them, at the time. I still enjoy using them. I'm more capable with them than my cdj 800s, and that's excluding any usage of effects. You'll like them for the USB compatibility. I never had any luck with them as controllers, but for beat matching they got the job done and the jog sensitivity adjustment put the touch very similar to the cdj 800 platter. Stanton should add another level to the CMP line
