I purchased these for my landscape business and I am 100% satisfied with them. They with stand the rough abuse associated with some of the rip outs and replants that we do. As no problem chopping through roots of shrubs and trees.

Cheaper material ?
I have owned a couple if these spades for years . I bought them through A. M. Leonard . After two years of use the one started cracking on the blade . So I purchased two new ones through this sight . I'm sad to say the handle of one bent in the first week . Not sure if this is actually from a different manufacture or what but I'm extremely disappointed in the shovel .
