You can't go wrong with this deal. Five cd's of Mott The Hoople for a bargain price. Really good music that brings back memories.

A great way to own all the original cds!

I bought this collection just for the first three of the five albums it contains (All the Young Dudes, Mott, and The Hoople). They’re five-star great, and well worth the price of the set to me. The two remaining discs, recorded and issued after frontman Ian Hunter left the band, are OK but nonessential, and the reason I gave the set four stars instead of five.

Great cd!

Excellent collection of the three Columbia Records studio material, complete with bonus tracks and the two 'Mott' records after the departure of Ian Hunter.Since only a fan would order this collection, then perhaps you may not have heard the two Mott records, 'Drive On' released 1975 and 'Shouting & Pointing' released 1976. Both are faithful in carrying on the Mott The Hoople sound, but noticeably absent the influence and voice of Ian Hunter. Buffin and Overend still holding it down along with Morgan Fisher on keyboards, Ray Major on guitar and Nigel Benjamin on vocals & guitar. Having said that, these two records are chalk full of potential 'singles' that could have been released as such, but were, sadly, not properly marketed here in North America. Both are good rock'n'roll records and are well worth owning again. I have them on vinyl (both are very well wore) and very happy to now have them on CD. I don't believe they were re-issued when CD's came along, which makes this an even better collection.Couple this set with 'Mott The Hoople Live - 30th Anniversary Edition' and you'll have an ultimate collection of Mott The Hoople in their Columbia days.

If you're a fan, you need these. If you're not a die hard fan, but like Mott the Hoople, you will still want this collection. Original songs plus demos and live performances and non album cuts. Just buy it.

This is a fantastic collection, everything I ever wanted or needed related to Mott.

The 5 CDs collected here are the new remixed expanded reissues, each CD given its own cardboard sleeve identical to the original LP sleeve in miniature excepting the altered catalog number. This means the mini-LP sleeves have only the original tracks listed. The outside sleeve does list bonus tracks but does not detail what many of the bonus tracks are. I believe some are single versions (a couple with alternate Mick Ralphs guitar parts left in while the album versions were altered after he left the band). When demos were recorded is left to the imagination, as is the date of the live recordings included! The lack of liner notes cost this package a few stars! As a historian who likes to reedit my favorite band's music chronologically I find this very annoying and will be purchasing the individual releases for the liner notes from now on. An exception would be the wonderful Argent 5-LP collection which includes no bonus tracks and I don't need the new liner notes. (No matter how well I cared for the albums those soft keyboard and sparse vocal passages were starting to sound a bit rough on my vinyl.)

Questo confezione raccoglie 5 dischi dei Mott the Hopple ad un buon prezzo. al di là della confezione un poco spartana la cosa che va sottolineata è che in realtà 3 dischi sono dei Mott the Hopple, gli ultimi due sono dei Mott, ovvero il proseguio del gruppo dopo l'abbandono di Ian Hunter ed altri componenti del gruppo, quindi in effetti definire una raccolta dei Mott The Hopple una raccolta che comprende solo gli ultimi 3 dischi e 2 di un gruppo che non era più lo stesso, mentre mancano i primi, è ,diciamolo, un pochino un imbroglio. Detto questo i 3 dischi dei veri Mott sono belli ed è comunque consigliabile l'acquisto. peccato si debbano comprare separatamente quelli mancanti.

We listened to these albums over and over when we were young, and this is a great way to obtain them all together in one little box. For me the music has aged as well as can be expected and some is even better than I remember.While some may regard the last 2 albums as not really Mott (without Hunter or Ralphs) they bring back some great memories for me and should not be dismissed lightly.
