I recently purchased a GearTOP hat (Discover Series) from Amazon. While I don’t normally buy clothing items online due to fitting issues, I really needed the sun protection of a good UPF +50 hat for a weekend outing. When the hat arrived just one day after placing the order, I discovered that the product description on Amazon didn’t quite match what I received. So I called the toll-free GearTOP number printed on the hat tag to report this. I expected to be told that it was an Amazon problem and to contact them. But to my pleasant surprise, the friendly GearTOP customer support person immediately said that I could keep the ordered hat and that they would send a replacement to me at no additional cost! I was happily surprised again to receive the replacement direct from GearTOP in only 2 days! After wearing the hat for several days in full and partial sun, strong winds and even a light rain, I absolutely love this hat! Unlike my old straw hat, my new GearTOP Sun Hat fits comfortably and securely thanks to a soft, elastic head band and an adjustable drawcord and chin strap that ‘lock’ to prevent slippage. The mesh side panels keep my head comfortably cool while providing a stylish look. The only minor issue that I had was attaching the small plastic hooks of the removeable face and neck flaps to the equally small loops on the hat. But I eventually attached them and will only remove them to wash the hat! It's rare that I find a product that exceeds my feature/function requirements, has quality materials and construction, is affordable and is backed by superior customer service. But my GearTop hat does all this and even came with a bonus lifetime warranty and eligibility for monthly prize drawings! I enthusiastically recommend GearTOP when shopping for a hat or other great outdoor sun and wind protection products!

Someone put a ton of thought into the educational pamphlet. The product fits well and hopefully it protects me from the sun as well as they intend.

Provides excellent sun protection from the intense Florida sun. The brim is stiff enough to sit flat and has a crease so it can be folded in half for storage. The brim is wide enough that it effectively blocks the sun from my ears and neck though it depends on head angle. To improve back of neck cover I use the mesh face cover piece. It's a bit short but using the longer solid cape in the back makes me too warm. My only complaints are that I'd like to see a stiffer top portion over the head to keep some air space above the top of my head. I'd also like the attachment points for the cape to be further back from the head so it doesn't sit directly against your skin, making it more comfortable and allow better airflow. But otherwise excellent hat and great value for money.

My husband bought one of these for himself and I loved it so much that I ordered one, too. My main concern was protecting my face from sun damage since I spend a lot of time outdoors and this hat solves that. It's lightweight and very comfortable and keeps my head cool. I can wear it for hours at a time and my forehead doesn't get achy like it does with most hats. It can fold up small to pack in a backpack. The chin strap is handy whenever there is wind. I get compliments on it whenever I wear it out and about!

I love love this brand of sunhats!! So well made and work perfectly against the Arizona sun. I work in landscaping and spend a lot of time at the lake...this hat is an ABSOLUTE must!

Nice hat and color as this style goes with decent fit after around 6 different hat order tries. Just not sure whether top part is sufficiently sun proof since appears thin and allows light through and NOT opaque as expected to protect bald head. No mention of degree of sun protection in description by manufacturer

Very comfortable hat that offers great sun protection. This hat is lightweight so it helps me stay cool in the heat. The chin strap and the adjustable cap help it stay on while I am paddle boarding, even on windy days. the wide brim keeps my whole face protected. I would definitely recommend this hat for kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, etc.

Comfortable to wear. Fit was good and is adjustable. Wore it on a hot day and kept me from getting sunburned. I liked that it had a drawstring closure for windy days. Lightweight on your head and can easily fold and put in your bag/backpack.

Particularly in light of the modest price, this is a really excellent hat. It is adjustable so it will fit most, as the headband can be tightened or loosened. There is also an adjustable chin strap to secure the hat in windy conditions. In addition, the brim is stiffer so that it protects the head from sun. The hat is also very lightweight and has a mesh band to keep the head cool, even in very hot conditioons.

Me encanta en gris, protege muy bien contra el sol y se puede quitar o poner la tela frontal y trasera para que sea solo el gorro, muy recomendable para ir a pescar, senderismo o la playa.

Es bonito, cubre perfectamente del sol, es muy útil que es ajustable de la parte de arriba, el color y diseño es como la imagen, la calidad es buena, además trae la correa para mayor seguridad y no se caiga si hay mucho viento, en general muy bien.
