Hauptstadtkoffer - Spree - Luggage Suitcase Hardside Spinner Trolley Expandable

Bought this for a family member. Had to return them because the first time they used the small carry-on case the stitching started to come undone on the zip. Amazon were really helpful with the return and refund. It's obviously not a unique problem however, as I went to a different company and bought a different brand of luggage, and one of the larger cases has exactly the same problem. I have two other cases from this brand and they have been fine, so it's obviously down to quality control, presumably in China.

Very smart!This medium sized suitcase is exactly as described by the manufacturer. It is also quite smart looking as well. I've only just received it, and am sure it will take quite a beating in the years to come, but it looks like it's more than capable of handling typical misuse by luggage handlers!1) It is the size I wanted - exactly.2) It is the colour and material I expected - exactly.3) It was a very good price for the quality of the piece.Will try to remember to come back to this after a few uses to provide further feedback. NB: This case was actually shipped by Amazon from Germany. I ordered it on 2nd Sep, and received it via UPS on 7th Sep. There was no extra charge for freight. That's a bargain hard to beat for sure! (:-)

Very disappointed with these. The handle of the middle sized one has come away from the case after about three uses and the first time I used the large case the lock stuck and it was very difficult to open the case then the lock broke completely. Also they are obviously painted as they looked very tatty after a couple of uses as white areas showed through where the colour came off with scuffing.

Telescopic handle didn't work properly and eventually one side fell off. I tried to fix it and ended up removing it. The problem with this size of suitcase is trying to return it (to be honest, I didn't bother). Now trying to live with it without a telescopic handle. Case is sturdy and good with the wheels. Going through airports, I was able to get my 6 year old daughter to sit on it as I wheeled it through crowds holding the case handle (don't worry she wrapped her arms around my arm and not get lost in the crowd). Bought it for the colour but starting to look scratched and worn after 5 flights.

Generally functions well as a luggage except it's not made for moving around on 2 wheels. The bottom of the luggage drags on the road and gets damaged. I suspect this might have happen if you are not tall, not had this problem before with any luggage before though. I've used it once and it's already damaged.

I bought this as a 3 set luggage and as I return them I was sent back just 1 (the larger one) I had then to return everything as they claim that wasn't my original purchaseScamm avoid

Top line cases well made,these cases are well constructed and Ihave no doubt they will provide many years of service. I have no issues in giving them 5 stars and fully endorse them to others.

I bought this set of cases as I travel a lot and wanted a combination of luggage to suit the length of trip. On the first trip one of the rear studs fell off. The rubber tread of one of the wheels came off to its plastic wheel on the smallest case. The zip lock broke on the largest case. The final straw was a wheel coming of the least used case after its third flight. It is a shame as the cases are smart, pack empty within each other and are otherwise very practical and great value for money. They are also expandable. In summary, I would recommend these cases for land based travel but are simply not tough enough for air travel.
