Success on the Middle Level SSAT: A Complete Course

I have been tutoring multiple kids with this book as my guide, and many parents have told me that it has worked wonders. Even though it is not from the current year (2023), the questions and concepts tested are practically the same. I am just sad that I cannot as easily find such an excellent book for other SSAT levels.

Rather than just providing lots of questions, as some books do, this study guide included helpful strategies, tips and tricks for taking the SSAT. We did the short drills and then the skills tests, and found that my son's scores and success improved greatly. He already had the base of knowledge for this test, but the guide helped him hone his knowledge with better test-taking skills. We also appreciated the analysis of the answers, so that he could learn from his mistakes and do better the next time. This was the best book we used for SSAT prep, and we bought many! Going to try the author's practice test books next for additional practice. Thank you!

When my youngest decided to apply out, thus take the SSAT, I thought we'd get a couple of tutoring sessions and be good to go. That's not how it worked out. The first exam he took (with tutoring support) was OK, but not great. I ordered this book the week before he took the exam the second time. We sat for about 30 minutes each evening and reviewed sections of the book. His scores jumped significantly after using this book as a study tool. He thinks it's all because of the exercises in this publication. If you have a kid who is motivated to prepare this is a great tool.

This book was great. It had good instruction and practice tests with one full length test and a rubric. I purchased the official SSAT online review, quizzes, and tests so compared to that, this was just as good. It actually had better instruction.

This is literally our bible in preparing for the SSATs. There are great strategies that can be used beyond the test. I like the way the book is structured and makes it easy for us to follow.
