The Death of Diamonds Devereaux, A Drag Queen-Themed Murder Mystery Dinner Party Game for 8 Adult Players

As an introvert, I was nervous about doing a murder mysteries (more-less a drag queen one) , however I have very talented friends that I knew would love it. The Death of Diamonds was so much fun. Everyone enjoyed their character and truly got into the spirit dressing up and finding their character. I chose Jessica Pearce and channel my inner Alexis from “Schitt's Creek“. The quality of the box and content was great. The individualized scripts were hilarious and left you guessing as to who Murder Diamonds. This was my second kit that I have done, it seems to get the most out of a murder mystery you have to have a group that will have fun with it (dress up, have fun with their character).The best part were the videos with a drag queen that guide the group through the kit!This kit gives you the building blocks to let a group have a great night. Bonus, it comes with invites, dinner recipe and dessert recipe to make planning the night even easier. Made for a great night with friends.

I hosted this party over the weekend with my group of friends that has done many murder mysteries kits together including another by this company. Drag is really popular now and I have seen enough episodes of Drag Race to know that the drag queen theme would be perfect!There are three drag queen characters and five non drag queen characters, which are just as fun, if not more wild. But, I wouldn’t get hung up on who plays which character, because anyone could act in any of the roles. I played Trudy Mittelschmerz (a non drag character) and I still felt like I learned how to “serve realness!”It is a typical scripted whodunnit type of game where the murderer is revealed at the end. One of the best parts is the instructional videos by the drag queen, Mary Nolan, that guides you throughout the game. The host booklet will tell you to find these on the game website.Overall, everyone is still sending group texts about it, and I will likely be known as Trudy Mittelschmerz for the next few weeks!

Each year, I have hosted a murder mystery dinner of various themes. I wasn't sure how a drag themed murder mystery would be received, but we had a blast! In the game, only three characters are drag queens, which could be played by anyone in the group. If you play one of those characters, all you need is a wig and a good attitude - the game will help you shine and have fun. The game was scripted and laid out in a way that was easy to follow, but still left room for any off-script dialogue to add to the fun. There were great instructional videos to watch throughout the game for guidance. It was a successful night and there were a lot of special touches that will make it memorable forever! Highly recommended!

We had such a great time doing this murder mystery dinner! The characters were well thought out and so much fun to portray. I haven't done another murder mystery game with such fantastic characters! It was also super easy to follow with the great instructions that came with it (this was after a few drinks too!) We highly, highly recommend this to anyone looking to host a fun night with friends! Can't wait to purchase the next one from VanBier Murder Mysteries!!

This game is absolutely incredible! I’m a huge fan and have every version they have put out. Every single new one, will also be added to my collection. What an incredibly fun way to connect with friends and do something different. The thought and creativity of the characters and the gameplay is perfect!

Just got this game, and I am already very impressed with the quality, artwork and easy to follow instructions. I have played another game by this company, A Night of Societal Chaos, and it was a lot of fun. We may try to play virtually or in the near future, and I update my review soon after we play.

I was a little hesitant to buy this game because of the drag queen theme, but I am so glad I did because all my guests loved the theme. The script was funny and well written.I will play the game again with another set of friends since this time went so well. And I will be able to do that because the booklets and cards are sturdy enough to be re-used at least few more times.I’m happy I tried this one out.
