I've finally met my SOUL MAT!!!
I've been searching for a truly non-slip yoga mat for years (I practice hot yoga, Vinyasa, Ashtanga) and after buying many top-end mats this brand name was new to me...(love my Manduka Pro's but they take forever to break in and even though I'm not a particularly sweaty yogi I still need a towel in a good Power Yoga class or I'm sliding out of alignment in Down Dog and Warriors). My Jade Fusion was the nearest I'd ever come but still after 40mins or so I found I needed to add a towel as my mat would become slick and slippery. Then recently a girl next to me had a plain black mat with a logo I didn't recognise and despite the sweaty intensity of the class didn't seem to have any trouble with slipping. We talked about it, she recommended it so I went online to do a little research and ordered the Kharma Khare Reincarnated Lite. I was pleasantly surprised at the price ($60 or so) as many top end mats are $100 or more so wondered if it would be any good, but I can truly say I am just blown away!!! I absolutely LOVE this mat and it has revolutionised my yoga practice! It's lightweight and thinner than the Manduka Pro or Jade Fusion but I find there is still adequate protection for my sensitive knee joints and it's easy to add a fold for extra joint padding if I ever need to. The texture is kind of weird, unlike any other mat I've seen...kind of like those slightly rough industrial carpets you find in old office buildings! But don't let that put you off, the fibrous texture gives great grip and I feel more grounded than I ever have. The smell is a little unusual too, it has a slight hint of old tires, which should come as no surprise as that's exactly what it's made of! But it's not overwhelming and fades quickly. It has a little stretch to it too which is different from the more dense mats from Manduka/Jade etc but that also is a really pleasant feature as you can make micro adjustments to your stance and asanas without actually lifting your feet...another unexpected bonus! I use this mat for everything...hot classes, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Yin, and rave about it to everyone who will listen, plus there's the added bonus that the company not only cares about its customers but also the environment (read their website).Just writing this review makes me want to unroll my Kharma Khare and start flowing!!! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would...it's THAT great! 😀🙏🏻❤️

I Never Thought I Could Hate a Yoga Mat This Much
I know it sounds harsh, but I've been searching for the perfect mat for years. This was attempt number 5. I really wanted to like it, and my issues aren't even with the things that some of the other critical reviews pointed out, such as the smell, which didn't bother me at all. The problem is that it is extremely stretchy, seriously like rubber, so doing poses with wide legs such as Warrior 1, Warrior 2, and Prasarita is nearly impossible because the mat would stretch while I was in the poses, which turned out to be not only uncomfortable but dangerous. The mat would buckle under my feet, creating bubble-like pockets, which then ultimately caused the mat to actually rotate on the floor during my practice. I hate it. I considered buying the thicker one from Kharma Khare, but I decided to try Manduka instead, attempt number 6.

I was hoping...but no....:(
I have been searching for the ultimate "NON SLIP" Yoga mat for years. I was hoping this was it, but it is not...so my search goes on. It's better than some, but for hot yoga and really sweaty hands, this is still not it.

Otherwise I would highly recommend this mat for any type of yoga you are ...
I got this as a gift for my dad for his birthday, so far he is loving his new mat. It has really helped him with his grip and sliding. I am considering getting one for myself. The only negative I would say is that when the mat is rolled up it is extremely heavy so you would probably want to consider getting a sling for it, and the first couple times he used it (since it is made of recycled tires) it does have a strong rubber scent which is not too pleasant. Otherwise I would highly recommend this mat for any type of yoga you are doing.

The best + only mat for hot yoga.
The absolute best yoga mat for really hot {drenched in sweat} yoga. With sweat covering the mat you can still grip and flow through class with ease, inversions are a breeze without slipping. Dries quickly during class -- I leave it hanging after class to dry out completely. {When dry} lightweight for easy travel.I've used lululemon mats - said to "provide more grip with heat" however, in a hot yoga class where you are sweating, the lululemon mat was so slippery I couldn't even hold a down-dog without sliding, had to mop up sweat the entire class, still didn't help with slipping.Get this mat -- it has been my best yoga purchase thus far.

Did not work for me
I bought this mat as a non-slip mat for hot yoga. Some reviews stated that it has a great grip. Unfortunately, I did not notice an improvement over my regular $20 mat. In addition, it smells of tires even after 3 weeks if outside airing.I returned it.

Love everything about it, ESPECIALLY the tag that said "we know you like something new, and when your ready, or we come out with something new you just go ahead and send it back. You will get some money put twoards the new one and your old one will be melted down and used at a play area for kids."Come on who does not want to buy one now!
