Exactly what I expected
I wanted to give this product 5 stars, but I can't for two reasons:1) They apparently try to send the precise amount of hardware. In doing so, they shorted me a screw and one of the specialized nuts/bolts due to the threads not being present in the bolt. I would strongly recommend they send a little extra hardware to account for mistakes and manufacturing defects.2) The adhesive on the labeling stickers is made from what can only be described as the most extreme adhesive I've ever come in contact with. This wouldn't be so bad, except for no thought is given to the placement of the stickers and they're in the most obvious places. My wife is going to try using some olive oil to remove them, and if that doesn't work I'll break out the Goo Gone. I'll update. The good:The constructions is very solid and the materials are better than one would expect for a $700 bed. If I paid $1,500 for it, I'd be a little underwhelmed as the wood is not the highest quality with some pre-finish nicks and gouges. At this price point I'm very happy with the purchase though, and our son loves it. The seat cushions are firm and the material is comfortable, and of a decent quality. The bed, when finished, is extremely sturdy.Notes: Bring your own tools; The provided allen wrench is poorly made, and you'll want a cordless for the screws. Pay very close attention when putting the bench legs and seat fronts on as they do not attach in the most obvious way.

Love the bed (pictures do not do it justice!)... but UPS was horrible
The bed is fantastic! The bed came in four (extremely heavy) boxes that were taped up with approximately one role of packing tape per box. All of the pieces were clearly marked. I separated out each part for ease in assembly. I would suggest doing this for anyone purchasing this bed - there are a lot of different size bolts, screws, etc. If they are separated into piles it will make assembly go much faster. While assembling, there were only two holes that needed a little extra drilling as they were not quite deep enough for the cog that went in them. The directions were easy to follow and the results are beautiful. The bed is very sturdy - and heavy. The cushions seem quite cozy (although it would be nice if they came in a different color).I had read other reviews that indicated the bed was small. I would not agree. Although the bed may look small in the pictures, it holds a twin mattress. So unless my daughter outgrows a twin mattress I do not see size being a problem. Additionally, I am 5'8" and I have no problem sitting at the table. This bed can be put together by one person, up until the point that you have to put the bunk on top. As another commenter indicated, you will need two people as it is very heavy and cumbersome. I would also suggest assembling the bed in the room that it will be in. As indicated above, the bed is big, and heavy.Overall, this was a great buy for such a low price. It is much more aesthetically pleasing than some other big-box store bunks. As for UPS: I ordered the bed on December 6 for my daughter's birthday which was December 17. I received one box on the 16th.... two more boxes on the 18th.... and then the fourth box was in limbo with UPS. It was suggested by UPS that I file a "missing package" report. I waited one more day when the tracking showed movement again. The fourth box finally showed up on December 24. This is no fault of the seller or Amazon, just UPS. Just be aware that the "estimated delivery date" given by UPS may not be accurate.

Great bed, slow and poor customer service
The bed itself is great. I love the lower part which can be converted from seats/table to a bed. It's super useful for when guests come to visit. It seems well made. However, they lost a star with their super slow customer service. The bed was shipped with a damaged part. After informing them of this, it took an unacceptably long time for them to communicate with me about when I would be receiving a replacement piece. So for several weeks, the unfinished and unusable bed had to sit around taking up space in my house.I was fuming at one point at the slowness, and probably would have given a 1 star had I been reviewing at that time.....but after the piece was finally shipped, and we were finally able to put together the bed and use it, I feel better. They really do need to improve their servicing and process/procedures for handling replacements though. It is a part of the customer experience.

Fun and functional addition to the room
We purchased this loft bed for our 7 year-old daughter's playroom as a Christmas gift for 2014, and I am happy to report that she absolutely LOVES it! Since we assembled it, she has slept in the top bunk every single night. She really has no interest in sleeping in the full-size bed that is in her bedroom. We had planned for this bed to be an addition to her playroom to be used when friends sleep over, but having the "booth" (as she and her friends like to call it) below the top bunk has proven to be much more practical than we imagined. She sits at the table to read, play games and work on craft projects. When friends sleep over they have a cool place to hang out, as well as the ability to sleep in their own individual beds. The shipping/packaging of this bed was top-notch. However, if you plan to have the item delivered to a location other than your home (i.e., your office or workplace, which is what I did because we didn't want our daughter to see it before Christmas), be prepared - - it was delivered curbside on a pallet which contained 4 LARGE boxes and the total crate weight was about 250 pounds. That being said, the bed was well-packaged/protected so the bed and all of our pieces and parts arrived in mint condition. After opening the boxes and removing all contents of each, we inventoried everything to ensure we had all of the wooden pieces and hardware. Once that was done, it took my husband and I about an hour and a half to assemble. We encountered no problems during assembly, and the bed appears to be very solid and well-constructed.If you are considering bunk beds, this bed is an excellent choice insofar as it offers much more functionality for those who might use it.
