South Shore Gravity Nightstand, Gray Maple

I bought 2 of these after much looking for something affordable that didn't look cheap. I like the little shelf for books or whatever, and the drawers are nice and deep and fairly strong. I don't think they would cave in if I filled them up with clothes. There is a little angular cut out on the back left side so you can run a cord out through the shelf for charging phones and things.Only 4 stars because they are easy to scratch, and were quite a pain to assemble. You have to read the directions very carefully to see which way finishes should be facing, and I still think I got one wrong (or it's printed wrong!) It took almost all day to assemble both nightstands and I thought that was crazy considering they are both small pieces and I'm fairly handy at assembling box furniture.It might be wise to seal the top with poly, or get a piece of glass to protect the delicate finish. I'm using coasters and trying not to slide anything across it.I can't see the back panel edge when looking from the top or side that some reviewers complained about.Overall we're happy with the purchase.

I decided not to go with a typical IKEA furniture to change up the style I was going for. A decision I MAJORLY REGRET. I bought the dresser and nightstand set thinking it was a really nice and sleek looking room furniture until it was actually built. The holes don't align, parts of the wooden legs come out higher than others, there are gaping holes where two pieces of wood are supposed to meet, there are dents ALL OVER this thing, and when I finally put the drawers in, is when I really was enraged by the whole situation (see pictures). Clearly the people assembling the parts to this cheap piece of furniture don't know what they're doing. I have built COUNTLESS dressers, shelve units, nightstands, and other pieces of furniture from IKEA and other companies and I have NEVER struggled so hard trying to build it nor was I ever disappointed with the final result. I won't be returning it solely because of the headache it was to build and because it was supposed to be a temporary fix to a guest room anyways. If you're looking for a nice, clean looking piece of furniture DON'T BUY THIS ONE.

These nightstands are beautiful! I was a little hesitant to get them due to some bad reviews, but I’m glad I did. Packaging was good. The wood is not damaged. I will say the assembly was not easy. It took about 1 hour to build but the end result is worth it. I bought brushed brass handles instead of the ones included here on Amazon and I really think it makes the nightstands more lux! Definitely worth the price!

Arrived on time in a well compacted box. Looks and functions great! Could be multi functional piece for a living room side table, closet or makeup organizer Assembly was easy. The short outside horizontal wood slats to be attached in between the side legs for support & design need pre drilled holes to attach easily to the side of nightstand. Need additional felt bumpers to place on top drawers to close without the “slam shut” noise. Lastly it would be more convenient, if there was a precut/punch out hole on the backside of nailed cardboard for easy hidden cords for charging etc. Overall we would consider buying a match nightstand.

Save your money. This will not last. Any little drop of water will ruin the cheap veneer and cause it to de laminate from the particle wood. Lasted me a few months before a few drops of condensation ruined it. Furniture made from real wood used to last.

It's not worth the price. Many places have not been treated properly. The peculiar smell is very heavy. It has been used for a year and the smell of formaldehyde has not disappeared. A lot of unknown chemical materials may have been used.

I bought two of these and they are not so difficult to build as so many people have written here. If you have ever built a Sauder desk or any other piece of furniture, this is no different. Each night table came packaged in a box and all the pieces were tightly wrapped in cellophane and padded at every possible corner. The instructions are easy to follow and very visual. Each piece is labeled with a letter so it is easy to know which piece is which and written instructions are not required. There were no pieces missing and instead, there were a few extra screws and such. The furniture itself is very elegant and sturdy. I would have given it five stars but I am a bit concerned about the plastic railings for the drawers. They seem to be working fine but I have to wonder about their longevity. South Shore, change those plastic railings to metal ones and you will have yourself a solid five star piece of furniture.

Two for assembly would be helpful, but possible with one. Only one part is difficult on my opinion, 4would screws. Other than that it is just a matter of time and patience to assemble. Took around 2hrs for me, but you’ll likely be faster. I am pretty impressed overall.

I am a person that is very good at following assembly directions but the assembly directions given with this nightstand are very poorly written and difficult to follow. It took me hours and hours to assemble this. I think a lot of people would have given up and thrown it out the window in frustration! It would be helpful if each of the parts and hardware were marked with identifying stickers or item numbers. There is one part that did not have pre-drilled holes so I had to drill the holes myself. You get what you pay for - Cheap! - I purchased two, they will do the trick for me in the short term but I don't expect the nightstands to last long.

As with most South Shore stuff, it comes well packed, is easy to assemble, sturdy once assembled (I also always glue). My only issue is with the plastic 'veneer' wood-look. It just looks cheap. Doesn't hold-up well to drink glass condensation either. I would recommend this product - just don't expect top grade. Drawers are great.

Bought 2 for our bedroom and the drawers are quite large. Bought a basket to put in the upper shelf to hide our junk. I would suggest getting a piece of glass cut to put on top to avoid water marks and scratching. It made them look way more expensive than what they were!

I like this night stand and appreciate the good quality of the product once it is assembled (if you can get that far). I ordered two of these and was surprised to find that they did not ship together, I recieved one yesterday and am waiting to see when the second will show up.The "P" pieces of this night stand were about an inch too long to fit into their location on the side of the night stand, there was no way i could make them fit without sawing them down myself which I'm not in the habit of doing when buying furniture that is supposed to be sent to you ready to assemble.My second issue with this product is that the screws that they provide to attach the handles are almost too big for the hole they're to be screwed into and requires WAY too much physical energy to make them fit. I got one handle attached with minimal effort, but the second one was giving me a really hard time. The one screw I kept trying to fit into place, that I broke the screw in half as the screw got caught on something in the hole of the handle and would not go in any further that it broke when I continued to try...no one wants a loose handle! I submitted a request for pieces that fit my stand and a new handle, I will await response from the manufacturer. I like the aesthetic of this night stand but the delivery and assembly has been hell so far.

Es el Segundo mueble que compro para armar de esta marca. Esta bonito y a buen precio, sólo tuve problemas con el armado, hubo un par de defectos que encontré, le faltó 2 barrenos que servían de guía. En fin, no fue tan fácil armar como el otro que compre y sinceramente ya no quize revisar la garantía ya que al final quedó listo. Le doy 3.5 estrellas por los defectos.
