Excellent PC for graphic design, lightning fast
EDITED 5/14/2021 after further testingThis PC does everything I wanted it to do and more. And it's lovely. I've had this PC for just about a month now and this is what I've discovered about it. I upgraded from a 15.6" HP Pavilion about 6 years old, with 4gb of ram and a 500gb HDD, for context for my review.PROS:-LIGHTNING fast. 12GB of RAM is nothing to sneeze at and this processor and GPU hold up very well for all of my needs.-Runs resource heavy applications without crashing-Able to run graphically heavy games such as Civ6 at high graphics, Diablo 3 ROS windowed mode at 60fps - you can get full screen if you're ok with a lower resolution. The Sims 4 runs on High quality level graphics and I could honestly probably bump it to ultra because it is lightning fast running Sims 4 with almost 5gb of CC/mods + an expansion pack.-The speakers in this bad boy are LOUD AF - like I'm over here turning my music down when it's at volume level 14 when my last PC was at 100 and I'm still out here like "what?". I have an auditory processing problem so this is a huge pro for me.-Built in bluetooth is awesome. Seamless and quick connections with my headphones.-A built in optical drive for CD/DVD!!!!CONS:-Internal storage is only 256gb, which for graphic design isn't great, but I have a 1tb external SSD for it as well which was worth every penny.-It is HEAVY - easily twice as heavy as my last laptop, even my partner commented on the fact it was hefty-The keyboard feels kind of small - there's a lot of room left over they could have made the keyboard bigger. I have super small hands so it works well for me, but if you have bigger fingers it might be an issue.-The ethernet port has this weird guard on it that makes it super difficult to remove the cable once it's plugged in - I'm sure this is for good reason, but I have trouble disconnecting ethernet when i need to pack up the PC. It mostly lives on my desk, so this isn't a problem usually.- The one I got does not have a touch screen, but this is not a con for me as I frankly didn't use the touch screen that was on my last PC.-Also? There's only 3 usb ports in this thing, which is minorly inconvenient when I need the dongle for my USB mouse and my external hard drive plugged in. A bluetooth mouse is probably a good idea for long term use for this PC.-This PC can get rather warm as expected during heavy gaming sessions, I have it propped up at an angle to allow air to flow underneath and a small fan on the side of the PC to push air around it to keep it cool. Definitely invest in a laptop cooling mat!Overall, this computer was the best bang for my buck, and I'm back to making memes at full speed with my new PC. I think this is really the jackpot of a featureset for a beginner gaming computer or a computer for a college student studying the arts / design. I'm considering going back to school for graphic design and this pc will be perfect for that use. Illustrator and Photoshop run perfectly with almost zero wait time to start up.

Nice Laptop. Big. Arrived fast.
Ok first thing people have been asking...."is it a touch screen"? Yes it is. I know it says it's not but I assure you it is. My wife said she did not want a touch screen now she loves it....go figure. The key board is small but it's not a huge issue. The picture is crisp and clear. My wife likes how fast it is.....SSID is so much faster. We are currently installing Microsoft office plus 2019 and it downloaded seamlessly. The audio is loud and clear. If you are looking for a decent Laptop and aren't doing any hardcore gaming I would say go for it..... I mean I haven't tested it for gaming yet. My wife uses it for work. She likes the fact that that outer shell is textured. so it wont slip out of her hands. Laptop is still working great. Wife says no regrets buying it. I still have not tested it for gaming as we already have gaming PC's.

Not touchscreen or durable
It is NOT touchscreen. The TouchPad and instructions are entirely confusing. The screen fades and is not crisp and clear. The keyboard is black and raised style which for me is a plus. I'm older and found the layout confusing. The price is good but the case is plastic. I sent it back with Amazon's permission. You can go to any Kohls store and they will wrap and send back for you. Any Amazon product.

Perfect for Homeschooling and More
Unfortunately, this didn't come with a touchscreen, but is a fine computer for what I need. It's lightweight and perfect for my constantly traveling to my daughter's house for homeschooling and back home. It was simple to get set up and I have thankfully not had any issues. It's doing everything I need it to do. Works quickly and I love that my cursor isn't jumping all over the place like on my other laptop.

Works for 4 years now.
It's 2025 and still working. Had it 4 plus years now. Only complaint is I have to click no to download windows 11 once a month.

OK computer but plastic cracks at hinge
This is an otherwise fine computer (and it is NOT a touchscreen), but it has one very serious flaw. The case is made of cheap plastic (ABS?), and after about 2 years, it started to crack at the hinges, on both sides. The only way I can use it now is to hold the case together with a clamp (see pic). Actually I very rarely closed it, all I did was tilt the screen forward or backward occasionally, so it's clearly a case of the plastic turning brittle with age. Will not buy another HP because of this.

Read this Before ordering
This is a good machine. Light, good keyboard (I miss my lighted keyboard, but knew that going in), crisp screen.HOWEVER, BEWARE.I have been giving my IP the business over slow 5G speeds. 35-45Mbs. The IP isn't the problem, the computer is.HP informed me the machine tops out at 100 Mbs on the 802.11, even though this is advertised to be top speed wifi. On my 5G it gets the above. On 2.4G in the router it gets 95+/- Mbs. Plugged in, it gets the full speed of my service, over 400Mbs. In reality, and right now 90Mbs is very very good, but truth in advertising needs to come in, and I would have bought something else in all probability.I don't think this acceptable, but HP isn't going to do anything about it, there is nothing in the description of this data cap, and HP tried to charge me for CS with owning the machine for less than 30 days.I never have been much of a HP fan but figured I'd give it a try since the wife has one that is about 6 years old and she gets about 250Mbs download. For that age, I think that fantastic. Not trying to steer you off, just think you deserve to know what you are getting. Really this is the only knock I can find. Unbox it, do a fresh install of Windows (in Settings>Update&Security>Recovery, Reset this PC. Follow the prompts) After this is done, dump the installed virus antivirus if you want, I think Defender is much better, and carry on. Takes about 30 minutes or less if you do it at unboxing. No matter, what machine you get, this is a very good idea.Sorry, got long winded.
