Mastectomy & Post Surgery Drain Carrier Belt & Shower Holder (Two Pack Black/Navy)

I loved that this came with two products in one for a great price. Both drain holders were super useful in the first 2+ weeks after surgery with the drains. I especially liked the pattern on the belt, that it was washable, and that I could remove the extra pockets I didn’t need (I only had two drains). It was easy to sleep with as it kept the drains nicely in my lap and I didn’t have to worry about rolling on them. The only downside was that the tie string could have been a bit longer. I didn’t like to have a knot tied behind my back while sleeping and it was barely long enough to wrap around to the front and tie. You could probably move the tie to the side since the pockets slide along on the tie string. The shower holder was so great to have and dried so easily. It came with an extra long string so you could tie it around your waist twice or hang from your neck. The snaps on the pockets to hold the drain tubing in place aren’t necessary as the drain bulb stays in place nicely without them which is good because my snap broke off the first time I tried to unsnap them.

These are the best for recovering after any surgery that leaves you with drains. The 4 pockets are removable which was great as I went from 3 drains to 2 then To one drain! The cotton is soft and the strings are long enough. The shower mesh bag worked great ti keep my hands free in the shower and dried fast.

1. The drain belt seemed a bit rough at first but wasn't at all. I currently have it on at the end of three weeks 24/7 and it doesn't itch at all. The movable pockets are great as I've had a different number of drains as I've gone along (one added for a seroma plus all three coming out at different times) so I could configure the pouches accordingly.2. The shower drain is fine but the fabric holding the mesh together retains water so it keeps dripping as you try to dry off with the towel. For my reconstruction surgery I think I'll try a lanyard instead.

I purchased this set for use when I had bilateral mastectomy, lymph node removal and reconstruction. The mesh bag was very helpful to hold the drain bottles when I showered. I still needed some help from my husband to swing the mesh bag out of my way as I dried off so I didn't yank the drain tubes. But this bag did the trick. Just hang to drip dry in the shower between showers. I actually didn't use the black four pack waist bags afterall. But I had found several shirts that had drain pockets and used those instead. But the black waist bag is still handy because you can adjust how many bags you would use on it. The bags slip off easily so I could have removed two and just had two pockets for the two drains I had. I can't review that part so I gave five stars mainly for the mesh bag.

I am one week out from a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy and this is hands down the best thing I purchased in prep. The drain holder is easy to use and keeps things managed well. My docs were happy it kept them below my waist as well, because it helps gravity do its job. The shower holder is great too, but it gets chilly when you get out of the shower so be ready to swap out quickly. I also like how the third and fourth pouches can be taken off so if you start with two (like me) or go down in drain numbers, you can remove the extra fabric.

I WORE THESE EVERYDAY! THE ONE THAT TIES AROUND THE WAIST REALLY HELPED HOLD MY 4 DRAIN TUBES AFTER SURGERY! AND THE ONE FOR THE SHOWER WAS A LIFE SAVOR SO I COLD GET IN THE SHOWER WITHOUT THE DRAIN TUBES GETTING TANGLED OR PULLING!!

This works well, but it does shrink in the washer/dryer. And I wash everything on cold water and dry on extra low heat. It was easy to notice because I only needed to use the double pocket and one single pocket. After the wash, I compared it to the second single pocket and there was a significant difference. The drains still fit inside, but it definitely was easier before the wash. The mesh bag for the shower was much better and I like how it has buttons at the top to help keep the tubes in place.

Love that the length of the ties on both items is long and lets you customize where you want the knot to be and how low or high the pouch hangs down. Very helpful, useful and just what I was hoping for.
