I bought one for my 11-year old daughter to take to lunch and to separate her food. I chose this one because reviews stated that the food does not spill into other compartments, even when turns on its side, which is the biggest drawback with most bento boxes. So I bought one to try it out, but my 4-year old got it as soon as I opened it and started packing his own snacks in it...which led me to by a second one without truly trying it, but based on my son just loving it. However, these things are great! One of the coolest features is that each section has a label (veggies, fruit, dairy, protein, etc.). I have my daughter use it to pack her own lunches now, and she follows this to help her out (which helps me out!). I use my son's sometimes to send to preschool for breakfast and snacks, but I also use it to pack his dinner when we go to my daughter's softball games. I cannot sing this bento box enough praises! I saw somebody else review it as "too heavy" and sturdy. It isn't too heavy. My 4-year old carries it and he can open it on his own. I might wind up getting one for myself. I just wish there were multiple colors, especially since I have two kids. The second picture I include is my daughter's bento box after she packed it for her lunch.

I own several other brands of kids bento, this is perfect size for elementary school kids, it is not as leak proof as other brands but it works well for our needs, it is a good size and weight , it washed well, so far we had a lot of use , kids like it. We only hand wash. I love the insert removable to be sure and safe from mold . Value was a big thing for me, at under 10.00 each it was an ok price. Had paid higher price in other brands and ended up throwing it away due to mold under the inner cover . We have bought 2 units and wished the outer casing was plain and did not have the print but kids don’t mind it and it is serving its purpose.

This is such a cute Bento Box. We have previously used the BentGo boxes but I wanted something a little bit bigger this year. This particular box has 6 compartments and is a really great size and it appears to be leakproof (although the most liquid item I've put it in so far is hummus...).My 3 star rating is for the following reasons:1) Its heavy. Box + lunch + ice pack = on the heavy side for a 6 year old (maybe this wouldn't be an issue for an older kid)2) I found it very difficult to remove the interior tray from the outside case to clean.3) The (cute in most circumstances) designs on the bottom of the clear plastic tray are permanently adhered. Which is fine, but the sandwich ends up in the veggie compartment and its just confusing. Yes. Minor details. But! This is what reviews are for, right? To point out the things that are good and not good and that someone may not think about just by looking at the pictures.So in summary, yep! Its a cute and functional bento box. Maybe its durable. I ordered 2, kept 1/returned 1 so I'll update as time goes on. But there are a few things that make it not the right box for me.

Leaked once, but I had stuffed it full and it wasn't closed properly even though it had latched. My 2 year old loves her lunch box and gets way more excited to eat her meals when we pack it in this. I love that everything is available to her at once. It helps her not to binge just once thing but to eat more variety, plus it is much more eco friendly than ziplocks bags, which is what we often used before getting this. Whenever I pack her lunch in this, her little toddler friends get jealous and just want her food. I think everyone should get one of these. It also makes packing lunches more fun for me and helps me offer a better balanced meal because of the food groups written on the bottom of each compartment. I don't always follow it perfectly, but it helps me offer a healthier meal.

I use this with my kids for play days and field trips. I love that it has more compartments than others. The kids love finding different items to fill it up.Only negative is cleaning it. But it would be the same with any similar box with removable insert.

The portion sizes are great for a kid or adultThe container is mostly leak proof, you just have to make sure you have all the pieces snapped in perfectlyThe container is sturdy and holds up well, besides minor scratches that accumulate.The only complaint i have is, if you dont leave the pieces separate and open when not in use, it starts to smell like old food.

The Abovego is hands down the best bento style lunch box. It has far exceeded my expectations. It is sturdy, durable, affordable, and functional. And to mention its adorable! The only thing I think some people might not care for with this product is that it is not microwaveable. However, for me I like it better that way. I spent a small fortune on a bigger name brand bento boxes and they pale in comparison. I would take them all back and get more of these boxes if I could. Simply the best. Did I mention how much I love them?! :) I WILL be purchasing more of these.

Love the size and the containers. I am able to put ranch in my daughter's lunch and it doesn't move around and get on everything. However, there are pictures on the bottom of every section that you cannot remove. Like it says veggies and has a picture of broccoli. My daughter is in elementary school so it's ok this year, but next year I will have to get her a new one.

This is an actual five star product..So very happy with this.She used to constantly be losing all the small containers or lids that come in other lunch boxes I have tried.She does not like it when different foods touch each other.The thing that I am most happy about is that she eats all her lunch now. I guess because it is just one thing to open.
