Works great with Yamaha Clavinova CPL-220
Bought in lieu of Yamaha's own MIDI cable (UX-16) that costs 7 times the price of this one. Used fine with Yamaha MusicSoft Downloader to push MIDI songs to the piano. Haven't tested any of the MIDI "In" functionality. As per the CLP-220 manual, you have to connect the "Out" plug of this cable to the "In" sockets on the piano, and the "In" plug to the "Out" socket. Does what I needed it to do, for a fraction of the price of the official cable.

Excellent addition
Great addition to a midi enabled keyboard to connect to your PC. From the day it was installed/connected to keyboard (Yamaha YPT-200) and PC (simple windows 10) he has used it daily with no issues.

First cable was faulty, replacement works
The first cable I was sent was faulty but after comtacting the supplier they swiftly sent a replacement that is working well. Although the replacement was a different model of cable...

IPad Pro 2019 usb C to Kawai CL36
I used a usb c converter to plug this into an iPad Pro 2019, then into a Kawai CL36 digital piano for use with โPlayground Sessionsโ and it works perfectly!

New synth from old yamaha
Turned 20 year old keyboard into MIDI interface. Now I have what sounds like a synthesiser. Complete with arpeggiator, even with a cheap 'studio' programme. I just can't get enough.

Does the job
Works well. No need to install any drivers. Status LED indicating MIDI traffic useful. Supports SysEx packets which was important for me.

As easy as Do, Re, Mi-DI?
DigitalLife offer a selection of MIDI interfaces, and I'd already bought the DigitalLife MIDI-USB 1 cable when I needed a quick Windows-compatible interface. It worked well, and unsurprisingly, so does the USB-MIDI A01. These are all priced within a pound or so of each other, and DigitalLife include promotional items, so you can consider them fair competition for the 'cheaper' ยฃ10-12 interfaces (which I have also tried, and found unreliable). Which interface you choose does have benefits, depending on application - there are ones that plug directly in and the MIDI leads are flying, there are USB-C versions and there's this one, with the interface in the middle of the lead. In the case of the A01 - which you'd get to use with traditional USB 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0, not USB-C (though you can get adaptors), the benefit is that you get 2 meters of cable in the form of 1.5m of single wire from the USB port to the interface, and 0.5m of MIDI in/out leads. As with all of these devices, the leads are labelled according to the port they represent, so MIDI IN on the interface goes to MIDI OUT on your device. By having the bulk of the cable as a single wire, positioning the MIDI interface nearer your devices, you can monitor MIDI I/O activity via the red LEDs very easily, and it's suitable for a desktop computer, tower machine on the floor or an iMac where seeing the ports isn't particularly easy. I tested this on Mac only - where it worked perfectly via a USB 2.0 hub and directly; I've no reason to believe it won't work on PC or iPad (if I need to use it in future and find it doesn't, the review will be updated). It comes with a cable loop to tidy up the 1.5m USB lead and it fit the MIDI ports on my devices well, handling a lot of control information without dropping the data. It loses a star purely because it feels a little flimsy, and there's no documentation (it doesn't need it, but some people miss the MIDI in/out swap on the ports). If the shell felt more securely held together it would be a five star product, and probably ยฃ5 more expensive too. And the name... Dore MIDI? Do reMIDI... Do, Re, Mi - di! That alone suggests the people behind the product have a sense of humour, rather than the usual meaningless name and anonymous, multi-vendor/unknown origin products that litter these pages.

The best thing about products you're not totally familiar with is when they work right out of the box. I hooked this up to a set of Roland PK-5 pedals to my Apple laptop running OS 10.14.6 and it immediately started triggering my synth software. What more can you ask for? 5 stars!

Cavo perfetto, non necessita di nessun driver, dopo aver collegato l'in del midi alla mia tastiera Roland ed l'usb al pc ha funzionato subito.

Did everything as described. Works great. There was a slight delay when I used it with my digital piano but it's very slight and wasn't a big deal for me. If you use both input and output at the same time it makes the delay longer by about 10ms. Great value for price!

The build quality is high, but unfortunately the device I received very occassionaly misses events which means that keys being pressed or released are not processed.. this can lead to annoying behaviour of a note being "stuck" and keeping playing. Returning the device.
