STAEDTLER Premium Corium Urbes"Tokyo" Fine Tip Fountain Pen

One reason that I bought this pen is that Staedtler is a famous stationery supplier I recognised in my school days. Another reason is that the barrel of this pen is wrapped in cowhide leather with a design dedicated for the city where I'm living now: Jakarta. So I didn't have a high expectation from this pen with a simple stainless-steel nib. But the feeling of confidence and quality when using this pen is a real nostalgia. Apparently Staedtler is keeping its position as a high quality stationery provider. So surprising for this steel nib: the smoothness and precision.

Se trata de una estilográfica sólida, con buena respuesta de escritura. Un poco pequeña pero con la suave textura de la piel y el contrate con el acero. Yo la adquirí a muy buen precio, lo que la hace más atractiva.

Just received pen today. First impressions are that it writes quite well. It's a stainless steel nib, of course, and quite stiff. It has the feel of my TWSBI FP when writing. The medium nib writes quite like a fine - like the Japanese pens (and TWSBI). You may want to look at the broad if you love the medium nibs. It's not a wet writer but unlike my "dry writers" I've used it doesn't seem to skip. It has a screw thread lid which I like - in fact it's the only element that harks to anything more than a £50 pen. I have to say it doesn't have the feeling of a £150+ pen - I have a diplomat excellence with SS nib and that has a definite more expensive feel.For a £40 pen I'd give a thumbs up but it's certainly no Parker sonnet.I think psychology I'd have been more impressed if the box had been a proper gift box rather than the paper/card box it came in (see photo).Like the other reviewers said too it has a heavy cap so you definitely wouldn't be wanting to write with the cap posted.Comes with fountain filler same as the Parker deluxe. Not bad these days with some companies choosing not to include them anymore.Pros - metallic solid feel. Nice leather cover on the base. Reliable flowCons - Cheap box Very stiff nib. This pen writes beautifully. The pen is slightly on a heavier side, which I like. The cap is way too heavy and for this reason, I can't imagine writing with the pen posted. The nib is a number 5 nib - which I think could have been a size bigger in view of the size of the pen - but it's not too small. The leather looks good, but I think over a period of time, it would get stained. Also, while filling up the pen (from a bottle), I have to be very careful that the ink does not come in contact with the leather. I have the Resina version as well and I found that both these Staedtler Pens came in a simple/tiny cardboard box. It's a bit surprising considering the suggested retail price - though I bought these pens at a discount. Overall, a great pen.

Stilografica possente realizzata con materiali massicci. La qualità si vede tutta, ma anche il peso della penna. Con il cappuccio calzato è impossibile usarla perché quest'ultimo pesa parecchio. La stilografica è carina e dopo un po' di rodaggio da il meglio di sé. Sicuramente un bel prodotto con un design particolare. Personalmente l'ho acquistata con un offerta lampo e ne sono rimasto soddisfatto, anche se penso che a prezzo pieno opterai per altri marchi. Grazioso il sistema in metallo per evitare il rotolamento.P.S. La confezione che la contiene non è sicuramente all'altezza del prodotto.
