Must Have Got A Good One
A natural product can vary in quality. We happened to get one that was very soft and durable and in the year that we've had it, it has never torn, grown mold, or lost its soft feel. We've been very happy with it. The only thing I find a little bothersome, compared to an imitation sponge, is that when I put the soap onto the sponge it disappears into the sponge in a matter of seconds and nothing goes onto my baby's skin. That's the nature of a 100% natural sea sponge though, it's very porous and absorbs a lot of liquid, soap included. I've learned that I have to put the soap on them first, fill the sponge with water, then gently scrub. That helps to keep the soap on the surface. Still, I would purchase this sponge again over an imitation one because of its natural antibacterial properties and the softness we've come to love.

Not soft enough for a baby
I purchased the Baby "Buddy" natural bath sponge and it was great. It was really soft and lasted six months! I was replacing it and accidentally bought this brand. It is not soft enough to use on my 2 yr old. I guess I will keep it for myself to exfoliate.

YUCK
Sponge fell apart. It was super small. Do yourself a favor pay a bit more and get a better sponge.

super soft when wet!
We've gotten this item before, this is our second one. We were always paranoid about getting anything too abrasive for our daughter's skin. When she was a baby we got this and it feels course when dry but when you get it wet and squish it a few times it gets very soft! We were tired of going through those little terrycloth washcloths so quickly. This sponge is perfect and we use it to clean her hair too (she's now almost four) and we take the sponge, soak up water, poor it carefully and slowly over her hair to rinse it. It's perfect

Not as soft as expected
I have a sea sponge that came in a gift package from California Baby, which I love, but it's falling apart. Wanted to replace it and find something larger. This is certainly much larger - bigger than fist-sized. It foams up nicely with California Baby soap-free body washes. It's soft enough to use when bathing my infant, but I wish it were less dense. Much better than using a washcloth and can't find a better alternative at a reasonable price. Would give it 3.5 stars.

It's the luck of draw...
I have ordered two of these for my two kids. One of them is really soft when wet and silky as described, the other is much stiffer and my older one often complains that it scratches. I guess it's the luck of draw if you are getting a soft or a hard one. A few months later they are starting to fall appart (the stiffer more than the softer) so I would like to replace them, but debating if I should order the same brand.

Favorite Sponge
This sponge is 100% natural which is wonderful. It absorbs a lot of water and its nice and soft. Its naturally resistant to bacteria and durable.

The only sponge I use for kid
I've been buying these sponges since my daughter was born 3 years ago. I usually purchase a new one every 6 to 8 months, even though they'll last longer. I do it because my daughter eventually will decide to bite or tear it up. The sponges I've had have never shrunk or broken down on their own. They are real sea sponges so each one has been a little different from the last. I've had some that were super soft and some that were a little scratchy (the scratchy ones always had a softer side I could use). Regardless, I keep buying them. They're much nicer to use than a wash cloth or poof. They are naturally hypo-allergenic, hold more water, and last. This particular sponge is small, which is why I don't use it for myself.
