W10780051 Washer Suspension Rod Kit Set for Whirlpool Maytag Kenmore Washing Machine, Replaces W10317708, W10317709

I bought these when my washing machine tub would bang against the sides every time during the spin cycle. I found some good videos on YouTube for replacing the suspension rods. I recommend having someone help, since you'll need to lift the tub while setting the top of the rods in top of the washer.

Washer was doing the spin waltz, so checked YouTube for ideas. It turns out these are suspensions with springs and dampers. The damper is essentially a plastic bushing that rides along the rod, and when it wears, the machine will rock...big time.These are relatively easy to install...tilt the top back (secure with duct tape, and also a protective strip to avoid scratching the finish), and begin replacement one at a time. You will need to tilt the machine to get parts in and out the bottom.This took four hands...two to hold the tub and two to attach the fitting at the top. Don’t bother with the sockets, but practice getting the fitting on with the loose parts. It’s just a bit tricky.We got the whole job done in a half hour.There are other problems with the washer, but these did what they were supposed to do at far less than what a repair person would charge.

Fixed the machine walking the floor, but this product is less quality or performance of factory part. However, the price of this generic kit is roughly one third of it’s factory equivalent. You get what you pay for.

I purchased the suspension rod back in Sept. and it is working perfectly. It's washing and spinning and draining properly. You can't hardly hear the washer in the spinning cycle. I noticed that it wasn't evenly distributing the sheet, towels and clothes when placing it inside the washer. Note make sure the weight of the items are evenly distributed cause when it is at a spin cycle at great velocity the upper part of the tub will hit the cabinet and then the rods will wear out or break within time. I highly recommend purchasing the suspension rods. Youtube was a great source on how to install them. With the help of my brother in law and sister, we were able to install it. I saved a lot of money from purchasing a new washer.

Did not work long cheap not a good product

The rods arrived quickly and were a direct replacement for the worn ones on my washer. They’ve been on the machine for at least 2 months and continue to perform as needed: no more loud banging of the drum in the spinning cycle.

I HAD TO USE THE OLD PARTS THAT HOOKED ON TOP. 3 THAT CAME WITH THE ROD KIT WERE BROKEN. THEY ARE VERY THIN AND FLIMSY. I HOPE THAT THE SUSPENSION RODS ARE BETTER QUALITY, SO FAR THEY ARE WORKING FINE. SEE PHOTO
