The Latin name of the plant comes from the family where it comes from, the Piperaceae. It is therefore related to the pepper plant. The Peperomia Caperata has a heart-shaped, strongly ribbed dark purple leaf. Care Give this Peperomia a light, but not too sunny spot in the house, otherwise the leaves may discolor. Give a little water once a week and let the clod between the watering dry up lightly before watering again. Do not pour on the core of the plant, because then the plant may rot.
