Some experience soldering
Great kit! The show when done is spectacular and repeats but not with predictable sameness. It seems to come up with new patterns and is quite amazing. I still can't figure out how they get various colors out of LEDs with only two leads! It is quite and amazing project! At various times the "music" will come on all by itself - every two or three days - it will start by itself. It can be stopped right away by the switch on the project. Well worth the price - but it is a bit tedious at times. The manual is quite useful after downloading it.

It's a good cheap kit for soldering practice, be careful with the chip "board"
Just like so many of these kits, there are no instructions included, just a qr code. That said, the instructions are good, once you understand the bends of leads and have a decent knowledge of how to solder, you can complete this kit successfully. When complete, the pre programmed schemes are easily accessible via the remote control. Be aware that the content of the kit has recently changed an the instructions may not provide a note a note on that. The previous time I built this it was supplied with a chip socket and chip. Now it contains a small board and no socket. The orientation and mounting of that board is not provided in the pdf file but if you look at the board, it becomes obvious that it can only be installed in one way. There is now a pair of windows that align with the two boards. And since there is no longer a socket, the method to attach that chip board requires some "skilled" soldering. Be very careful to avoid bridging your solder across the pins. Be certain to test that board before you continue with bending and formatting the 64 leds that make it work. IOW, when the base is completed you can power it up and it will make music and the 4 leds will flash. If not, find out what went wrong before you continue.

Nice project.
The media could not be loaded. The difficulty getting the instructions lost you a star. I did not like the fact that I had to install a QR code reader on my phone to get the instructions. After I did get the instructions, they were very easy to understand. My infrared receiver was non-functional (could have been a soldering heat issue.). After I replaced the part no problem. I would recommend this kit.

COOL. TIME CONSUMING.
Not for amatuers. Fun but very challenging. Better know how to solder.

FUN TO MAKE THIS PROJECT!
It changes colors, despite having just 2 wire LED's. They change color internally!

Too complicated to assemble, kids refuse doing it...
Not easy to assemble. Too many LED parts.
