Why didn't I invent this???
Why didn't I invent this. Its a simple concept of equal distribution of weight closer to the body making it easier to lift heavy objecst and After 3 moves in the last 2 years I wish I had this thing during those moves.I just used it a day ago to replace old washer and dryer with new ones.Had to go up to flights of stairs and carry from one Vehicles to another.I had 2 guys helping me and they were amazed. It made things alot easier.I have hernia like pains in my groin area and this didn't cause any stress or added pain. Here are the things you should be a little careful of.1. on flat service it make things effortless. My friend is much younger and stronger than I am and I thought I wouldn't be able to carry my own but it make the lifting power equally distributed as long as you both have the same arm Level. There are 3 openings for your arms. In my opinion it makes things easier if You both are using the same. So If My arm is in the Third Opening then my partner should be too.2. Keep back straight almost no pressure on back however when going up and down stair depending on if you are on top or bottom you can experience strain on back but try to lift and keep item at a good horizontal level. it makes it easier.3.this product comes with back harness. I thin it for when lifting really heavy things up stairs. I neer had to use it but I can see how it could take the stress off your back.4. It is very durable and doesnt seem like it would break. Its like nylon tougher than seat belts. Industrial weight material. I have seen guys at home Depot use a similar product.Only way this will break is if you cut it or you are carrying something extreamly heavy the wrong way.Make sure the straps are laying flat under appliance before lifting. I have heard of some people taking a flat dolly to make it easier to lift.well there is more i can say but im tired of typing all I can say is I plan on buying atlest one more and a flat dolly. i No longer dread having to move furniture.5. Make sure it all the way on your arm. have arms 45 degree angle and keep your plams open and in front and above you a little. Now on side. I glad I bought his and my friend actually borrowed it.SIDE NOTE: It says dont lift people but we did lift my friend sister while she stood straight up. It was hilarious but dont tryt his at home LOL

Love the forearm forklifts - not crazy about the harness
I had used the forearm forklifts before for a move for my adult son and was surprised at how easy they were to use (purchased from uhaul at the time for a much higher price). We moved a washer and dryer - just he and I. I am a 50-ish year old mom - stronger than I look, but not "lift a washer and dryer" strong. We moved a few other things as well. He claimed them for his own though because he did like them so well so I no longer had a set for myself. So when I found myself needing to move some other furniture pieces for a move at another family member's house, I bought this set thinking that I liked the idea of the harness. I don't think they had a harness the first time I bought .... or if they did, I didn't know about it. My teenage daughter and I used it to move a chest of drawers. She had some trouble and I had more trouble than what I remembered using the harness. In theory, the harness seems like it would have made it much easier. So the next piece of furniture (a dresser), I got my husband to help me and we abandoned the harness and just used the forearm forklifts. I found this much easier. Perhaps with more practice, we'd like the harness. But who practices? When you move, you just do it and want to get it over with as soon as possible. What happened with the harness was that the piece of furniture was much closer to our bodies than without it so when you walked, you had to take tiny, baby steps or else you'd hit your shins with every step (we have the bruises to prove that). It was worse going up and down a ramp. By just using the just the forklifts, the furniture was braced further away from your body by your hands and we didn't have that problem. So I took away stars because of my difficulty with the harness that maybe others wouldn't have. Oh - and at the risk of having my daughter kill me, I will add that my daughter is quite busty, so the "girls" got crushed and were in the way using that harness as well ... just one more thing to keep in mind if you have the same body type. But the forearm forklift themselves are a solid 5 stars on their own and if I had a do-over, I would have saved myself a little bit of money and just bought those alone. I'll give the harnesses another try if I find myself in need of moving something heavy again .... buy who knows when that will be.

Very Useful Carrying Aid
I bought this to help taking a chest of drawers up 3 flights of stairs.Actually there are 4 straps included...2 are the original 'Forearm Forklifts' for lifting lighter things using your forearms & elbows.2 are the shoulder / back harnesses which connect to the forearm forklifts via a buckle - for lifting heavier things. The forearm forklift straps each have 3 forearm positions for carrying different sized objects. There are plenty of videos on YouTube on how to use it.My one & only time using it didn't go quite successfully, as (due to inexperience) I chose the wrong carry method...Method 1 : You can have the strap passing from your right shoulder, to under the object you're carrying, to your left shoulder.Or...Method 2 : You can have each strap passing from one person, to under the object you're carrying, to the other person.I think for level ground carrying either method would be reasonable, but for carrying up stairs you should use method 2.Anyway, the strap will no doubt last for many years, and I can use it for future moves. There are quite a lot of 'inferior copies' of this device available from on-line suppliers. Those ones have thinner / weaker / less wide straps, so are more likely to be fiddly to use or cut into your shoulders. This one is the 'genuine article', from Forearm Forklift, although re-badged by Batavia. The label still says 'Forearm Forklift'.The straps are strong, 3 inches wide, and the buckles are made of metal coated with a smooth black plastic.I'm happy with the purchase. Recommended.

You should get one even if you don't think you will need one immediately.
Excellent, Simply Excellent. It does not make you stronger, but definitely uses your strength in the best possible way. I was able to "hand lift" a bosch drier with my buddy on the other end. We first tried with just our bare hands, and couldn't even lift it an inch of the ground. Then we tried with this, and wow, completed lifted it on top of the washer is less then 10 seconds. The Bosch vent less drier is supper duper heavy, much heavier then regular vented driers. The product itself seems very sturdy and well made. I have no doubt it will last a long time. I was also able to use just one strap by my self(with out another person). I simply wrapped the strap around a product that I just bought from IKEA and was able to walk it up 3 stairs, all by my self. the Box was about 60 pounds, but it was large box with no proper way to hold it by hand. So it was very difficult to lift and carry it by one person, but not with this strap!

Very expensive. You cannot use it on stairs.
It's not that good as on the advert. You cannot balance it on the stairs especially when you carry a washing machine or dryer. It's better to use your both hands and those of your friends. It's waste of money. I paid a lot for it and it's useless.

Perfect
I work in removals, my job will bee much more harder without these. Have them for 6 months now still use them every day, without any problems. When I will buy again I won’t buy the shoulder ones, just because I don’t use them. Reason being, we are in a hurry all day and it’s more convenient and fast just with the arm straps.
