Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – The Original Screenplay

Brought as a gift for a Harry Potter fan and book read as a continuation on for thee to read.

I'm a JK Rowling / Harry Potter / Fantastic Beasts fan ....so what's not to like!!!! I'm certainly not going to give anything away of the plot line... but there's always some twists in the tale to surprise us. Personally I find that hardbacks are definitely most appropriate and appealing for this type of book - a screenplay. I know some people find it difficult to read a book which is actually a script, personally I just imagine each of the characters saying their own lines as I'm reading them. I really hope you enjoy the book if you decide to give it a go and immerse yourself in the magic!!

As you may well know, my love for the Harry Potter series knows no bounds. I love it, I love it, I love it. Equally, I am in love with the Fantastic Beasts series. All I want in life is a house with a library and two bathrooms AND for JK Rowling to continue writing back story to the HP series. With Fantastic Beasts I kind of have one, now I am just holding out for the house with the library and two bathrooms (fingers crossed folks). The Crimes of Grindlewald brings us to a character we first heard about in the Harry Potter series. The eponymous Grindlewald has been spoken of a lot in the Pottermore universe and it seems that we are getting to know a lot more about him and how he approaches wizardy. We are also seeing a remarkable resemblance of thinking to He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named (*coughs Voldemort). What I love about The Crimes of Grindlewald is that it leaves you wanting more. ​Just like the first book, I finished it within a day. They are just so easy to read, and I loved this book just as much. I like that the plot has moved on and is now focusing more on Grindelwald (as the title states) and Credence; it was so good. I'm already sad that I have only one book to go before I'm done with the Wizarding World completely, but I'm loving this series. I do hope she continues the plays (and films), as there are supposed to be five instead of three, because I really do enjoy the series and I know that the third film left things unfinished (I'm assuming the same applies to book three). ​The design of the book, just like the previous one, is beautiful. Everything I said about the previous book applies here; it has the same aesthetic. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot; it was such a fun and quick read. ​Again, the book had two plot-twist elements; I remembered the first one, but I only half-remembered the second. This book was a five-star read for me, and I would highly recommend that you try this series because I love it. I'm excited to read book three, which I'll be moving on to straight away! ​There are a few quotes I loved or that made me laugh, and I always like to include them: ​"There are no strange creatures — only blinkered people." ​"She has eyes just like a salamander." ​"It's never too late to free yourself. Confession is a relief, I'm told. A great weight lifted." ​"Oh, Newt. You never met a monster you couldn't love." ​"I'm sorry, but I can't admire people whose answer to everything that they fear or misunderstand is 'kill it'!"

Absolutely stunning book designed by MinaLima — graphic designers of the Harry Potter films. Reading the screenplay is fascinating, and you can learn some details you may have not noticed in the movie. The book has a really nice quality, and under a dust jacket is a gorgeous textured dark cover with metallic lettering for the title.

Bought this for my son he’s into j k Rowling in a big way

I bought the hardback copy of this book when it first came out as I loved the cover. I am only now getting round to reading the book for various reasons so I know I am quite late to the party and many fans of the wizarding world created by JK Rowling will already have read the book. This is the second book in the Fantastic Beasts Series and it follows on from six months after where the first book ended, I do think that the books need to be read in order as I don't think that this one would really be as good a read if it was read as a stand alone. I really enjoyed the screenplay. I do like that these books have been written this way and are a little outside of the norm for this type of story. The characters were great and I loved being able to catch back up with those I met in the first book, and new ones introduced in this one. I started the book and finished it in just under two hours or so later - it was addictive and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I wanted to read the book before watching the films (as I always do with books that have been made in to films so off to watch that now and then on to the third book in the series). It is 5 stars from me for this one - no hesitation and really looking forward to book three now and it certainly won't take me years to get to this time!

Fantastic book

I enjoyed very much my time reading the screenplay to the movie and the best part is that I am able to revisit every scene. I love the Wizarding World of J.K. Rowling!
