She Made Herself a Home: A Practical Guide to Design, Organize, and Give Purpose to Your Space

I enjoyed mostly getting ideas from the excellent photos and highlighted text areas. Author includes lots of others styles and creations in addition to her own.

During this season of . . . as it was declared here in Washington State, “Stay Safe, Stay Home”, I like most of you, have placed more energy and focus into our home and gardens. I also connected with many “new to me” designers, authors and creatives. When a new design book is published, I always ask myself . . . Do I really need another decor book? After acquainting myself with lovely Rachel @crateandcottage in the month of May, I knew I wanted her book in my collection. It arrived on my doorstep, yesterday! ( Pentecost Sunday ) I love the book! Rachel’s introduction, drove me deeper into the meaning and purpose of making a home. I so appreciate the Bible verses and family mottos woven within the chapters. “A wise woman builds her home.” - Proverbs 14:1 - When you jump inside this book, you will recognize many . . . and meet new, in this beautiful collaboration of woman who are truly propelled by grace!

Good advice, but I recommend starting with the last chapter first (this is becoming common in books I'm reading). I live in an area where much of the generic advice doesn't work well (I have one store within 150 miles), but there's tons of bits and bobs that are useful for anyone. I wouldn't recommend skimming the book because of this, you'd miss some really good stuff.

Oh my gosh! I’m not even done with this book but I love how she guides you through every room and helps you think and decide how you want it to feel and look but also doesn’t push you or make you feel like the only way to fix or change it is to buy stuff! The rooms she shows are beautiful and inspiring! I love her process, it’s fun and helpful

This book shows a journey from the author as she shows how she created her home with various design ideas and ways to make a home feel welcoming and inviting. She shares her sources and helps you pull it altogether.I leave this book on my coffee table and everyone loves to look through the pages and enjoy the ideas.A great addition to my home style collection of books.

I love love love this book! The pictures are gorgeous and the organization of the book makes it easy to flip through and plan each room of your home. And the resources for certain pieces is nice as well. I love that you can feel the writers heart throughout the book! Definitely would recommend this to friends and family! A great gift idea!

Nice looking book. Even a spot to write in front cover. Bought it for a young women who bought her first home.

What a beautiful book. The inspiration quotes and bible verses which accompany the design styles really get you thinking. What is the purpose of my spaces? I bought the kindle book as I'm in the process of moving but may consider the physical book for my coffee table in my new home. For now..mood board, here I come!
