So when I'm home I find myself in the kitchen more than any other room in the house. I love to cook for my wife and kids. This being said, having the correct cutlery, kitchenware and appliances make that job so much easier. About 5 years ago we picked up a decent, but not top of the line Zwilling J.A. Henckels set for a little over $500.00, I loved the set and found a reason every day to use it, whether it be butchering meat, slicing tomatoes, dicing herbs...they worked flawlessly. But with any edged blade they will naturally over time lose that edge and will need resharpened and as such I would use the sharpening steel. If done properly a good set will last you forever and will be able to be handed down. My chef knife however was dropped and the tip shattered. So I began my search... I have never used, held or even touched a ceramic knife before but have seen them used on various cooking shows and have heard the benefits such as the edge remaining sharp much much longer and the biggest one for me...ZERO possibility of bacteria being trapped in the pores as there are NO pours in a ceramic knife and the material that they are constructed of simply doesn't harbor the growth of bacteria. I searched and searched and searched again. But was hard pressed to spend 300.00, 200.00 or even 100.00 in a single knife. I am a parent after all and most of mthis money goes to my children and what's left goes to the wife. I came across the Oliver & Kline set numerous times when searched for Prime knives and honestly kept passing it by. After about 3 days, I narrowed the search down by, Prime then by Ceramic, then by knives rated 4+, then I sorted by the highest rated knife. Low and behold, Oliver & Kline are the very first option. So I finally clicked on it, I haven't heard of them before (the reason why I didn't initially look at them) but I figured with such a high rating and at a price of 30.00 for not one but THREE knives, why not? I decided what the heck, I might as well just buy them, see if the ceramic hype is what they say it is and if I hate them, or they are horrible, don't feel good in the hand or feel cheap they will go right back.On to the actual review (sorry) So I get the Amazon package and think they had sent the wrong thing because the package was heavier that expected. I open it up to find a nice looking gift style/display box with a magnetic closure. They knives are nestled in cheap dense foam but whatever they aren't staying in the box. I pull them out and hold each one and immediately notice the feel in the hand, the weight and the balance of the knife are all superb, had to believe they are only $10.00/piece. The handle is a soft yet firm enough rubber that I don't feel like it's going to slip from my hand. The blade is more brushed graphite in color then black but I don't care. They look gorgeous nonetheless. I immediately wash them and grab some Roma's I want to dice so I can give them a test. My Henckels pairing knife is my go to for this task. So I was doing and apples to apples comparison. I take the pairing knife and rest it against the skin and with no pressure (other than the weight of the knife) I notice it already cutting into the skin when drawing the knife back. This is HUGE anyone that understands the importance of a sharp knife knows the difference between a watery diced tomato and a very presentable diced tomato. I decided I was going to make steak that night so I pulled the steak out and took the chef knife to trim it up and did so effortlessly. I am throughouly impressed with the feel, the look and the performance of the Oliver & Kline set. I'm very curious to see how they hold up after months of use.Now onto the things I would change. Anyone that uses a knife should know how to handle the blade and be responsible. There is absolutely no need to put a "guard" where your forefinger goes to prevent cutting yourself. Buy doing this you simply cannot use this blade to chop and I am tempted to cut this piece off flush with the blade, but I'm sure warranty will be void and it may cause issues with the stability of the blade in the handle as well as allow bacteria inside the gap. Who knows I may use them and completely forget it's even there.Secondly, there are no sheaths (blade covers) included...not a deal breaker as the set is so affordable you really can't expect that. But I would have no issues paying a little more for a matching set of sheaths. All in all...if you are even remotely looking at this set. Just buy it. You won't regret it.Sheeves and hand guard

I do take good care of them - after I handwash
I bought these on November 2015 & have used them numerous times since. They are still sharp & looking new. I do take good care of them - after I handwash, I dry them thoroughly & store them back in the box they came in. I have searched years for knives that don't need frequent replacing. I hope these are the ones. I recently had an issue with the chef knife & wrote to O & K's customer service. They are amazing. They responded on a weekend & resolved my issue within a day. A++ on customer service for sure. For the price, these are wonderful knives.

First I would like to say that I have used these knives since ...
First I would like to say that I have used these knives since July, and I cook a lot. They have been wonderful. They are super lightweight, and very sharp. They are also easy to clean. I like the box that came with it. It looks good on the counter, and I keep the knives in there when they aren't being used. I have tried really hard to keep them in good shape. I did damage one somehow (really don't know what I did, I was slicing an apple) and their customer service couldn't have been more wonderful. They offered to replace my knife immediately after I contacted them! I have a friend's daughter's wedding shower this summer, this will be part of her gift! I highly recommend these knives!

On the Cutting Edge
I am a believer in Ceramic knives and have been purchasing and using them for over a year now. I have both loved them and their versatility and been disappointed in their fragility. One knife fell on my kitchen rug and the blade snapped off completely; one pitted while cutting vegetables and another just lost it edge in a short time.I ordered this set of knives hoping for a better product and was not disappointed. I have found them to cut well, clean up easily and store safely in the custom box they came in. After several uses they have maintained their edge and have no damage to the knife blade itself. The handle is an easy grip rubber that makes them easy to hold and control, and the price is most reasonable. I highly recommend them. I also am convinced that if I have problems down the road with these knives I feel the company will be fair in response to my complaint.

Great buy
First I would like to say these knives are beautiful. They are nicely balanced and the handles are very comfortable. I purchased these knives through a flash sale so was a little skeptical. There was a snafu with the delivery but the people at Oliver and Kline stayed in daily contact with me until the knives arrived. The first item I used my knife on was a pot roast and it sliced like a dream with no effort what so ever. I will buy from this company again.

I wish they were sharper; otherwise, just perfect
Gosh, they are gorgeous and handle well, but don't appear to be very sharp. I've tried cutting cherry tomatoes and celery with both the small and medium-sized knives, and they seem no more effective than my well-used and never-sharpened 5 yr old 2" pocket knife. Perhaps ceramic knives just aren't that sharp? Or I'm dull in terms of proper knife use and expectations? I DO know that tomatoes are easier to cut using a serrated blade, but celery? Oh well, they are lovely and DO cut :)

Love these knives
My kitchen knives were in terrible condition so I treated myself to this set - they are awesome. I prefer smaller "paring-size" knives for each of use but all three sizes of these ceramic knives are wonderful - they feel very balanced in your hand. They are so much better than what I expected (given the purchase price). Have only been using for a few weeks (cooked meat & poultry, citrus, veggies, hard cheese) but have been very impressed with them

My husband has been wanting a good set of ceramic knives for a few months now
My husband has been wanting a good set of ceramic knives for a few months now. I got him these for his birthday. Not only are they beautifully packaged, but they’re amazingly sharp with easy-to-grip handles. We’ve had them a week and have used them quite often. They cut everything from tomatoes to ham-on-the-bone easily. I couldn’t believe how thinly we sliced that shank ham. Amazing. Would definitely buy again. I would love a set of steak knives like this.
