This was a nice gift for a teacher who loves butterflies. The book was very good quality paper and beautiful colorful pictures.

Gift for hubby, he loved the photos and content. Anyone into butterfly’s, and age group would enjoy this book.

There is a lot of beautiful pictures and great information in this book. Love it.

I've been wanting an illustrated guide of moths and butterflies for a while now. First, I like knowing about them! Second, I wanted to be able to identify them when I saw them. Third, I wanted to use the illustrations as a visual reference for my own artwork (graphic artwork and otherwise). This meets all of my needs! Very well done! I have another book from the same publisher that I received as a gift. That one is for Rocks and Minerals. Both books are awesome additions to my book collection. They will be incredibly useful and they are very well-done!

I bought this to help identify some butterflies that i had photographed on my travels. The book is very nice, but not specific enough to identify the ones I had pictures of. Some of them are pictured, but a variety, others are not pictured. I am learning, though, about the different butterfly subtypes.

Great book for facts and looks good on the coffee table

This was a gift for my mom and she loved the artwork of this book! The pictures are very detailed with art and real life images of moths and butterflies in various stages of life cycle. The descriptions for each species accurately tells you their habitat, shelter, food and larvae host plants! Awesome book of Lepidoptera (moths and butterflies ☺️) no matter if you are a kid or young at heart!

Beautiful book filled with illustrations and so many varieties! I am not a specialist or knowledgeable at all on butterflies so I can't say if the information is accurate or relevant, but I was pleased to see both a section at the beginning about butterfly ''basics'' (anatomy, life cycles, feeding,...) and the rest of the book with specific varieties. I bought it as a reference book for art as I knew I would like to paint butterflies but I struggle to figure out which ones would fit better in my compositions. I would say this is perfect for this purpose as there's plenty enough varieties to look into and the colored illustrations are detailed enough to get accurate inspiration. I would say it's a ''quantity over depth'' kind of book as each variety has more or less half a page including the illustration, so the description can be pretty short. On a sidenote, most of the illustrations are drawings with the exception of actual photos for the ''basics'' section. I think I should mention this for people who are looking for photos only. However, I personally find the drawings to be very detailed and accurate enough for my own use. Gorgeous book to leave nearby for people to skim through as well! I would have loved it as a kid for sure.
