These are excellent. Big box store had some cheaper but they didn't look as nice as these and they are AMERICAN MADE to boot. Mounting bracket goes on first with 4 screws included, had to drill a starter hole as my deck is trex but no problem. Also used flat washers to get some to be level but not the fault of these caps.they look really nice and the covers snap off very easily if you need to level them. Buy this company's product, Atlanta post caps.

I got the true 8"x8" post caps and they were easy to install, though I had to get 4 inch long wood screws at the hardware store since the top of my existing post was in such bad shape due to water rot and insects. The cap is in two pieces and you have to screw in the bottom/collar piece first and then "snap" the top onto it. It looks like the attachment of the top piece to the bottom piece is fairly permanent and you might gouge it a little if you tried to separate them after they've been snapped together, so make sure the bottom is exactly how you want it before you snap them together. My old caps were wood and badly weathered and rotten. I expect these to last at least 10 or 20 years even with strong UV exposure from direct sunlight. Everyone says these look very classy and elegant. I'm very happy with them and will be ordering four more. Delivery was fairly quick - about 5 or 7 days.

Perfect fit on my 5.5 wooden post top; easy to install; seems sturdy so far.

these look great but do have a bit of cheap plastic feel to them...but we love the look and are used to them now.

The caps which I ordered for my 4x4 (actual) cedar posts look like they were made to go on something 6x6. They leave significant gaps between the post and the part of the cap that I thought would be in contact the posts. Wife hates them. Makes for a horrible, horrible appearance. I’m now looking for different post caps that actually are made for true 4x4 posts to replace these one size fits all monsters.

Order arrived two weeks ahead of estimated time. Post fits great. It's difficult to find post caps larger than 6x6 these days. Glad to find this one.
