A fascinating read for children and adults

It's an excellent intro into a vast topic and well worth the purchase.

This book arrived extremely quickly well wrapped and was like brand new. Was very impressed. My 8 year old grandson loves it.

This is a lovely colourful and informative book showing the important role that animals have played in helping our troops over the years. These fascinating stories will capture the imagination of all readers and 'Animals at War'should be made available in all schools. Although aimed at the younger reader my father who served in WW2 found the book extremely enjoyable.

Marvelous

We bought this for our 10 year old son that is fascinated with all things Military right now. He had it read in no time and would come tell me about all the stories he had read, and the fascinating animals covered in the book. I believe he has now read it 4 or 5 times and it continues to be a favorite of his. I haven't read much of it myself, but he has read portions of it to me. It appears to be very well written, and obviously has held his interest very well! :)

When times are good, it is easy to find friends. When times are tough, only our true friends remain by our side. From pigeons to horses, the animals that inhabit Isabel George's book remained loyal comrades and companions to their soldiers.I enjoyed this book because it offered me a brief introduction to ways many different groups of animals aided their comrades in battle throughout history. It also described several individual acts of animal heroism.The text was clear and simple for young readers. Many color photographs enriched the experience of reading this book.

Usborne continues to delivery with this fascinating book about animals used in war. My 6yo daughter is learning about the various wars in history and the vivid pictures and easy-to-read text make this another Usborne favorite.PROS: vivid pictures, piece-meal content with easy to read textCONS: none
