PURTREX-PX05-9-78 Replacement Filter Cartridge

I made a big mistake of buying a 12 pack of Culligan filters, never again. I tried to save a couple dollars but ended up changing filters every 3-4 weeks. My first Puretrex filter has about 9 weeks on it and is still going strong. These are noticeably bigger than the undersized chinese made culligans, I measured about 10.4x2.4 for the Puretrex and 10.1x2.1 for the culligans. No wonder they didn't last!

Works well at a reasonable price. Most importantly it is made in the USA!! No China mystery filters in my drinking water system.

This is not a Purtrex filter. Been using Purtrex for 30 yrs. This packaging and label was different than the original manufacturer's. My water is white, tastes horrible, and my TDS meter is very high (prior to changing the fitlers is was 37). This is misleading.

I broke two of the tiny connectors -the little blue rings that secure the hoses in the cartridge - after going to HOme Depot, Lowes, and a plumbing supply, I learned they are call collets - and had to order some!

I have been buying these for many years. Product part number and description in this listing makes it look like original product. It came in plain clean wrapper with small generic label that even has a typo in product name. If you want replicas, you can find them cheaper...
