Other companies could learn a few things from these folks.The Mace pepper spray is a perfect fit for my lifestyle as it comes with an easy wrist holder that is easy to get on and off and especially easy to pull the spray out of the wrist band for immediate use. I hike, bike, run, walk, etc., daily so this has given me a great deal of comfort and security. My main encounters are not with people but DOGS who are allowed to run free and wild. The best thin about this spray compared to others I have tried out is the far distance it sprays. It works as advertised at least 12 feet with a strong stream. I tried it in one second bursts and it will stop a train. Just make sure you are not spraying it into the wind or you may disable yourself with the spray.

You can insert the pepper spray can into the holder at the perfect angle which will allow you to immediately aim and spray without further adjustment, saving precious seconds of time.After a dog attack event happened is when I ordered the jogger model pepper spray holder.......I'm a senior citizen with Rheumatoid Arthritis and last week my German Shepherd, which supports my mobility issues when needed and is not a fighter, was attacked by a Presa Canrio type dog which sneaked up behind us and threw my 95 lb Shepherd to the ground like she was a rag doll and it only took a second . My panicked mind completely went blank as to how to get the pepper spray, which was being held down by a Velcro strap, out of the holster on my waistband . I will not carry pepper spray that way again. When I threw the end of the leash I was holding onto the ground the growling dog paused and raised its head giving me the seconds I needed to gather my wits and get the pepper spray out. I sprayed the dog directly in the eyes and it immediately got off my dog and walked back in the direction it came from. This incident put me in fear for my life as well as my dog's life even though in the end my dog did not suffer any bites.I ordered this product mainly for the holder which is absolutely wonderful. I was hoping I could stretch the holder to where it would hold a three ounce can of pepper spray but try as I might I couldn't do it. The reason I need a three ounce can is because I'm not such a good shot that I can guarantee hitting the eyes before a smaller can would run out. I also feel more comfortable with a longer distance spray with a very heavy continuous stream.To recap, I highly recommend this pepper spray and holder to anyone who feels confident using a smaller can of spray. In highly dangerous and crisis situations where you or your dog is in danger the seconds saved when using this holder count for a lot.

Luckily, the issues with my ex didn't escalate and I never had to use this pepper spray. But I carried it all of the time for months, and it really never got in the way. Once it's wrapped around your hand, you have all of your fingers free. I could carry in the groceries and still have it in my hand -- I would only have to drop the groceries and flip the protective top to use it, which would take about two seconds. It made me feel really safe.I still carry it, but it's in my purse now. It's small, so it really doesn't take up much room. I have carried it my hand recently, when I went for a walk at night. It really provides peace of mind.

This complaint is only about the product. It's the exact same Mace sprayer with a small velcro strap. It is contained in a plastic bubble pack, so that's the way it was produced. It's not completely useless, but it's $5 for the strap if the sprayer is $10. Total $15.UPDATE: I gave back a star because the velcro strap is good for attaching your Mace sprayer to something. It is certainly not some type of hand-to-hand strap that you may have seen elsewhere.

This is my third container that I have! First was for my sister when she jogs. Then I got one for me when I go for walks. Then I got another one to leave at the front door just in case it's not the delivery guy.... These have a long shelf life, you know the expiration date when you order, and it's a great deal. My dog was mauled by a loose pitbull when we were out walking last year. I had been carrying a cane, but it's kind of obvious. The mace fits into your hand or a pocket, and no more worries!

I had two of these and a (few) other brands that didn't work out. If you are a cyclist or a jogger and especially if you depend on it for transport it is required of both men and women in a city. It works as a dog deterrant and if you use it your only looking at an angery owner, with people you will make sure your legal if you do not, you're looking at a court date for even using it. despite if you were assalted or not. In Oklahma it can be used on vicious animals(my understanding) not people who ever they are!(and that is lame) because attackers should reserve attacks if not wishing to get sprayed. that's all they have to do, but they do not. dog owners can attack for attcking a dog and should be dealt with as the animals they are however, in Oklahoma it is the law you will not engage in this even if they rush you! Oklahoma and it's "blu laws" sucks and needs to update to rest of country!

I haven't tried spraying anyone down with this yet, but I was expecting something a bit larger. That model has small hands, so don't be surprised by the rathe diminutive size of the canister.
