Liberty Blues Men's Big & Tall ™ Denim Vest

So I wear a size 4X and sometimes 5x depending on the outfit. I have purchased a leather vest and had to go all the way up to an 8x to fit me. But when I ordered this vest I did it as a 6x and it came in a little bit too big but after washing it it fits nice and loose like I like them. I could definitely done with a 5X and would have been fine.

This vest came from Kings Big & Tall which I've bought many items from directly in the past. And I've bought Liberty Blue Jeans, too. The size has normally been right. I'm currently getting 3XL shirts and used to wear 4XL. But outerwear, I'd usually get a size larger. This time I ordered a 4XL Vest and it was gigantic on me. I could have made a double-breasted top out of it. It doesn't appear to be true to size based on their size chart. I've got it bagged up to return now. Also, I've ordered a 3XL in the same vest to replace it. By the way, this 4XL was a replacement for another brand's 3XL that fit me more like a 2XL. Sure makes it difficult to order clothes online.Added comment: The 3XL arrived and it fit properly for me. It is a medium weight denim and appears well made. However, the label says it was made in China. Can't seem to get away from China made products. I was a good buy for the discounted price. I would never think of buying it for the listed price in catalog.

Well made, but slightly heavy

Remember when you took scissors to your old jean jacket to make a vest? I wanted a denim vest that fit like the old style denim jackets from the 70's I was used to, not one that looks like those dumb 'trucker' style they currently sell that fasten 3" below the hip. Not wanting to cut up my only remaining off-brand denim jacket that is vintage and fits like a glove, I took a chance on the Liberty vest. Yeah, I know Liberty is no longer made in the US, but what denim is other than the pricy stuff from specialty labels. This vest hits just below the belt, perfect, and the armholes are generous but not so big your shirt escapes. I bet you could wear it shirtless and it would be just right, too. I like the collar, and the pockets, though on the side seams, are deep enough for keys, phone, gloves, and hands too. Like the old school jean jackets it has chest pockets that button through, and inside pockets behind the front panels. A tabbed button at each hip finishes the look (mostly for looks.) It has a touch of stretch with the denim, which at my age is appreciated, and if you need to wash it, just be sure to use cold water and hang dry to make it last! I have tossed it into the dryer and it did not shrink, but since the denim is a lighter weight, I don't know how durable it is for a constant wash/dry cycles.
