15.6" WXGA LCD Inverter Board for Dell Laptop/Notebook Inspiron 1545

My computer screen had gotten very dim, I did not realize it until we purchased another new laptop. So.... it took us ten minutes following instructions on utube and replaced the old inverter for the new inverter board. Turned it back on and it worked perfectly. Be sure and find out which type of screen you have. We did not have LED screen, we have the CCFL screen (you need to know what kind of screen you have). This solved the dim problem. It was dim but not blank. If it goes blank then it is not only the inverter.

My laptop screen all of a sudden went black and the image became so dim that I almost could not make it out. I consulted with a computer repair man who thought it was the screen backlight inverter. Thus I bought this inverter. The inverter arrived almost one month after I bought it, which is the only reason I gave this item a 3 star rating. Problem is that replacing the inverter has not fixed my screen. I have looked around on the internet, and this appears to be a common problem with the dell 1545's. There also does not appear to be a surefire fix :( My laptop still does not work and I'm just going to buy another laptop instead of dumping money into this one with no guarantee that anything is going to work. Thus the new inverter is getting tossed as well :(

The screen on my Dell Inspiron 1545 went dark and this was what I found as one possible solution. Well, it didn't fix my problem. I ended up having to replace the screen. But, I don't think it had anything to do with this part.

Did the job and at a fraction of the price. My husband was able to replace it in a few minutes and he is not at all computer savvy.
