Great tool
Easy to use. The weight is the necessary for the cut of glass. The build quality is excellent. Good price.

Great kit for beginner glass cutting! ! !
I needed to do some basic glass cutting but had never cut glass in my life. I didn’t even know you could buy some thing like this to cut glass with until I googled it. This glass kit did exactly what I needed it to, it was very easy to use, approachable, and made great cuts the first time, even when being used by someone with zero experience. It also came with a really hopeful instructional insert , the carrying case is great too, it has those little foam holes that fit every piece perfectly. It even comes with a little plastic dropper bottle for the oil. Overall great basic product. And who knows? Maybe it’s also great at more advanced glass cutting work… but that’s not what I tested this product on. But at least for something easy yet effective this kits for you.

Pretty helpful!
I used this to cut some 4mm thick glass tile. There was a bit of a learning curve but once I got the hang of it I think it’s pretty impressive! I’ve learned that you have to put a decent amount of pressure on the tool while cutting- enough to hear a crunchy noise. If it didn’t make the noise, my cut wouldn’t break. If it did make the noise and I scored it too to bottom, it was easy to break in a clean line. Also, I dipped the cutting part in the oil before each cut and that helped a lot. I was nervous I would be a complete failure at cutting this tile but I actually did it!

Beautifully packaged but I can't seem to cut any glass with it.
I am on the verge of abandoning my stained glass hobby. I have purchased all the necessary tools, but they are not adequate. The glass cutters do not score the glass deeply enough for it to snap. I have tried the other cutters provided and angle that I use the cutter, but that hasn't helped. Do you have any suggestions for getting the cutter to score the glass deeply enough? Update: Used thinner glass 2mm and dipping the cutter in oil rather than using the oil reservoir. Better results but not adequate for glass cutting. Use with"Dragon brand" Running pliers are the way to go.

It was so easy
At first I didn’t think it would work because after pouring the boiling water, then the cold water immediately after, it took a bit before it separated. But it did as advertised. Nearly perfect on my first try! This works great and I’m gonna have a lot of fun with it. I would recommend heading to TikTok and looking up @a_dad_called_brian. That’s where I went for my instructions on how to use it. I’m a visual learner. You’ll learn not to pour water outside the rubber bands. Pour the water only on the score line. Also, make sure there are no gaps in the score line. And only go around the bottle once. If there are any gaps, only fill in the gaps, don’t go around the entire score line twice or more. It won’t break clean.I didn’t apply enough pressure when I started making my cut and I left a small gap in the score instead of having a flush line all the way around. That’s how I ended up with a little point on mine. But, I’ll sand it down. I’ll make sure to correct that next time around. But, 5 stars for sure!!

I've had a handful or so of these over the years, although I can't recall buying a new one, so I must have gotten them 2nd hand, yard-sales, flea markets, etc. This unit is much better than any of those, it is better made in all aspects. At the 10-15$ price point, I admit much wasn't really expected of it and I'm quite pleased to have been in error; the heft alone speaks loudly, I don't have to apply borderline too much force, which is extra-bonus for me as I'm very clumsy to begin with, less-than-preferable dexterity for such work. Having a good solid tool will make a LOT of difference for me, there is quite a bit of glass cutting in my near future and I expect myself to gain a good deal more proficiency than I currently have, in glass working. The one gripe I can make is the plastic case; I get putting a nice tool in a good case, but metal or wood, anything but plastic, is preferable. Unnecessary plastic use is the .25-star ding on this review; we're choking on plastic garbage globally as it is, this contributes to that needlessly.
