Works well for multi-region movies and American region movies
I mainly use it to watch multi region movies and it works fine. I have another player on a different tv for American movies.

Excellent choice
Excellent upscale on nonblue-ray dvd’s, best I have seen. Makes non blue-ray dvd’s look Blu-ray. All formats that I have used, mostly European, and USA work seamlessly. Also a small footprint that fits well anywhere.

Great and Easy! 2021 Review!
Love this player!!I was looking for a player for my Japanese and Korean DVDs and most reviews here were talking about their European ones.I'm here to let it know, it does works with all regions without issues :)It's smaller than I originally thought it would be, which is great for space specially in a dorm.Easy to connect to the TV and it does come with an instruction sheet on which button to use for changing the Region for your DVDs.This has to be done BEFORE you insert the disc ;)The controller is very easy to read and has a subtitle button that DOES work while the DVD is playing!! So you don't have to worry on going back to the main menu (same with the language options), unless you have an old DVD that won't let you :(The Wifi set up was very easy too, the network menu looks like the one from the PS4!Not a lot of streaming apps options, but personally I only need Netflix and YouTube, so I think it's okay. It does have Prime Video if you need it! (Netflix has it's own button in the controller and it works perfectly!)

Really works on all regions
Bought this because I purchased some blue ray dvds from another region, not made or sold in America. So it really worked out well and that's what makes it special. It was very easy to set up, although the hdmi cable sent with the player didn't work. I easily bought a replacement, and everything been fine since. Very happy with this purchase.

Good value in a small package
This is playing all the movies that I am buying. I like BBC movies but some of them don't come playable in the United States. I particularly like Miranda. Compatible with all my Sony equipment

It plays all region DVDs!
I read reviews of so many DVD players and it came down to the Sony as being my best choice. This thing is loaded with features but of course the best feature was being able to play all the Top Gear Specials DVDs! This DVD player comes opened and modified to play all regions as these are not normally sold in the US. They did a professional job on it. Yes it's a little more expensive but it's a Sony, can't go wrong with that. It has Wi-Fi connectability which allows you to access apps and play them on any TV.

Very Disappointing!
I purchased this to replace an old Panasonic wireless Blu-ray that was kind of pokey, did not support close-captioning on certain streams and had certain apps that could not be upgraded. It mostly plays Netflix fine, though not perfectly. It is awful with Amazon (I can use pause 15% of the time, captions often consist of a bar that reads only "this is a sample of close captioning." It is awful with Hulu for some of the same and for different reasons. (And of course it does not have HBO go - but I knew that when I purchased it)I am chucking it and replacing it.

Easy to operate and reliable, this is the second one I've bought aready.
Make sure you switch regions with the player open and no discs in it, it's the only way it works.
