Wrestling with God: Finding Hope and Meaning in Our Daily Struggles to Be Human

Everyday everywhere struggles
A great read, it was not what I expected from the title, but it was what I longed for. Rolheiser brings our everyday struggles with God to the fore and then grounds them in a healthy wholesome spirituality. A popular style that reads easily (couldn't put it down, so beware your schedule). Recommended for saints, sceptics and the rest of us.

Inspirational
Rolheiser’s books are so rich in content and this one is no exception. He addresses modern challenges to faith without romanticizing the past or relying on pat-answer cliches. He shows us how the “classical road maps” are relevant and necessary, drawing on biblical wisdom and spiritual examples like Mother Teresa. This book also gives an excellent explaination of the Dark Night of the Soul, defining social justice, and understanding mature spirituality.

How to be real in a friendship with God
First let me say anything by Father Ronald Rolheiser is worth reading, and this is no exception. He is "real" in calling a relationship with God to be difficult at times, and yet worth the effort to work through the challenges of life with God as your friend and guide throughout the journey. It is so refreshing to read such a deeply spiritual author who is also got his feet firmly planted on the ground. Rolheiser is not afraid to talk about the difficult issues, and while he doesn't "solve" them he does cheer the reader on as the reader works through the challenges of life.

Very rich in real content!
To my surprise and delite, Fr. Ron posed many questions and situations that have crossed my mind during my life journey. I never thought I would see some of my very personal thoughts put into an actual written question, much less have some very reasonable answers provided for evaluation.Overall, I truly enjoyed reading and pondering all of the "Human Situations" that Fr. Ron raised in this book.

Powerful and instructional
Wrestling with God requires to be read and reread. The practical wisdom offered is timeless and helpful to adults of all ages. Imagine even when we are "cursing" God, we are still praying. Thank you for writing.

Nuggets of gold are found in this book
While not an exhaustive study of how to deal with life's struggles in an increasingly secular world, it does give some truly useful insights into how to live your life with God at the center. This book inspired me to seek a greater understanding of God's providence and mercy. Though written buy a Catholic priest, the book is neutral in its' tenants.

Not one of Ronald's deepest works
I am a fan of Ronald Rolheiser. In particular, I learned a lot from SACRED FIRE and THE PASSION AND THE CROSS. This one seems to have been written for a 'less spiritually evolved' audience (to use Ken Wilber's development stage framework). The beginning chapters are full of dualism. As the book warms up, you get a few pearls of wisdom, but definitely still not as profound as his best writings.
