Skip the Other Brands!!
The first Yak sticks we tried were the Ecokind brand, but we were buying them one at a time, and some of the other brands are cheaper for single sticks. Specifically, the "original" Himalayan Yak chew company was around half the price at one point. After being severely disappointed with literally EVERY other brand available, we're back to Ecokind. They're consistently on top in terms of longevity, flavor, scent, and size.Ecokind yak sticks are nearly twice as dense as the other guys, so the shape is more of a stick than a brick. The other ones don't fit in ANY holder, even the ones made BY the original brand.Being so much denser also means the Ecokind sticks capture a LOT less smoke than the other guys. Don't get me wrong, I love the taste and smell of smoke. I grew up in Tennessee, and we basically consider it one of the 3 main spices, right there with salt and pepper. There's a limit, though, people! It's like spandex. Too much of it in one item is NEVER ok. You have to taste or smell the Ecokind stick to know it's smoked. With the other guys, you HAVE to taste and smell their sticks... You don't actually have a choice in the matter, once you've opened the package. It's so thick in the air. Alternatively, you can read the packaging. It tells you they're smoked. You can smell the other ones through the bag, though. That, alone, should send you running.A final benefit to the higher density is that there are fewer bubbles in the final product. That means fewer weak points. That's not only important in terms of how long lasting the sticks are, it's CRUCIALLY important for your dog's safety. All yak sticks break when chomped on. The Ecokind sticks break into pea sized, blunt bits. Tiny little chunks, basically. The big, blocky, over-smoked ones break off into shards. I'm talking about inch long shards with extremely sharp edges. I'm not going to say they're "razor-sharp," but find one with your foot in the dark, and you'll be wishing for a nice Lego to step on. If you decide to go with the other guys, stock up on band-aids. You'll figure out why pretty quickly.Overall, I've been really happy with the Ecokind sticks, and as long as Dixie continues to absolutely love them, they're the only ones I'll buy. As an added bonus, they fit in a Kong toy.

I’ll buy these again! A worthy match for my super chewer.
I’d been looking for a safe chew treat for my 6 month old puppy and our groomer suggested we try Himalayan yak milk. Let me tell you, these things LAST! I’ve been annoyed with other treats that people have said will last a while, these things take Kahlo weeks to get through. They’re not all that lengthy for him to hold down an end with his paw, so I stuck the yak milk bar thing in one of those extra durable black Kong’s and the puppy was thrilled. Also, they don’t leave gross stains.

Longest lasting chew treat ever. My dog absolutely loves these!
This product consumes my dog for hours, and I really like what you can do with the small piece left. Just follow the directions on the bag.

Good Yak stick but...
As you can see, I have a Boston terrier; I have given her, I think, every size that Eco kind yak chew offers. I currently have the size that is meant for medium to large dogs. Phoebe loves them however, I think she goes through this brand of yak sticks way too fast. When I bought the small size, I tried that size only because I got 16 sticks for a good price. It took her about 2 days until the stick needed to be taken away and microwaved for 30 seconds. With this medium to large dog chew, I counted the days until it was microwave time and it was 5 to 6 days. So, Phoebe is eating 1 a week and that seems a bit costly to me, $35 every 5 weeks. Maybe, for dogs these sticks are a bit too soft and that is perhaps better for the obsessive chewer so they don’t hurt their mouth and they won’t break off slivers or shards that can be sharp. I think these chew sticks are great for a dog that doesn’t have a “bully bite” like a Chihuahua, Cocker or a Pointer and any dog with a soft mouth or that is not ocd about chewing. I just think that we are going to try a different brand that and one that uses the original recipe.

Fresh. Plenty in the bag. Do not last long at all.
This bag comes with several of the sticks which is good because they go insanely fast. We’ve had another brand and the stick would basically last a week - these didn’t last an afternoon. They are fresh so no complaints there. I’m just not sure why my 8 lb dog can plow through this in a very short time when the other brand last so much longer. We will be going back to the original brand, which is fewer sticks for a similar price, but I feel better about him having them because he consumes less overall.

good chews for our lab puppy
We've bought a few bags of these chews and are pretty happy with them. The last batch didn't last as long as the others we have purchased. Overall, they are a good alternative to rawhides and keep our energetic puppy busy.

My Dog Loves These!
My dog loves to chew and I recently found Premium Himalayan Yak Milk Dog Chews for Small Dogs - Handmade Himalayan Dog Chew Treats for All Breeds - 100% . I will have to order the larger size next order, but I'm definitely keeping these in the treat cupboard. They satisfy the chewing urge and are not messy or smelly. Best of all, they do not upset my doggy's tender tummy.

Stevie likes it! But...
Our 17 pound terrier loves these treats! The big ones are a challenge but the smaller ones she can work through in a couple of days. Per the instructions, we take the small stubs and microwave them into “ popcorn” and cut pieces of that off. She loves that too! Though we had one package that became moldy in the refrigerator, have not had that problem since. Highly recommended!Update: the most recent package we received contained “small dog“ treats. They are too small for our 17 pound terrier. She gets the whole thing in her mouth and we are concerned she’s going to choke or something like that. I did contact the seller and they gave me a stock number which brought up a medium sized chew on Amazon. That has not been visible to me when I ordered the original. I’m getting a bit confused by the different sizes and different quantities available. I think all this needs to be laid out much more clearly on the Amazon webpage.
