Review of case and collection
I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend and he loves the disc's. I did see complaints about the shell case but feel it wasn't a problem. One of the dividers that held disc's (disc's not scratched)were loose but the show was released in these a long time ago. I have found the packaging plastic does age on all of these style cases but it's fine. Seller was good too

Once great series showing signs of distress
First let me say I've been a fan of of this series since it first aired and given it's better than most of the other stuff on TV this is a reluctant 3 1/2 stars for Season 4 putting me clearly in the minority of opinion. [Spoiler’s included in this review] As I view these programs exclusively on DVD there’s always a lag between the season being watched and the current season. When the news was released that POI had been picked up for a 5th season it came as no surprise as it always appears in the top 20 rated shows pretty much weekly. Then it came out that it was only for a shortened 13 episode run and won’t premier until next year…the handwriting seems to be on the wall that POI’s “number” could be up. Wondered why initially until I started viewing Season 4 and sadly it seems the wheels are starting to come off the wagon. We join our team where Season 3 left off, Samaritan’s gone live and has “The Machine” and it’s acolytes on the run. They’ve got new cover ID’s and have to stay off the grid to avoid detection so there’s not much time or energy for helping the “numbers” which is a problem since that’s the core plot of the show. Fortunately some issues are resolved and despite their new day jobs the so-call “irrelevant” people can be helped or foiled as needed. We’ve gotten rid of Decima and the Vigilance group but replaced them with Samaritan and its agents and now have the underworld Brotherhood gang causing trouble for our heroes.By now most know that Shaw is apparently killed by Samaritan goons; but later we see her alive. Sarah Shahi was pregnant with twins and had to leave the series although it’s now been announced she’ll return for Season 5 full-time. For unknown reasons the writers have developed a suggested relationship between Samantha (Root) Groves and Shaw. I’ve got nothing against the LGBT community but let’s admit these individuals represent the minority of our society. So why does almost every series now insist on pandering to them and having same sex relationships, openly gay, or transgender characters? Fine if it advances the story but in most cases including this one it seems forced.Speaking of “Root”or Samantha Groves, who is well played by Amy Acker but unfortunately becomes more annoying with each appearance. For a sociopath hacker she continues to evolve inexplicably into a Ninja. She now has acquired skills that make Jason Bourne look like Austin Powers. Two guns blazing (which means you’re likely not hitting anything) and snapping necks like Stephen Segal, “The Machine” can’t help her with those hands-on abilities. We do get return visits from “fixer” Zoe Morgan (Paige Turco who at 50 looks more like 40) who is always a fun addition to the cast. Also the ghost of Detective Joss Carter shows up in one very talky episode where she and Reese discuss his feelings and need to open up to others…what is this, Dr. Phil? This season, in his day job as an NYPD detective Mr. Reese (Jim Caviezel) and his propensity to shoot everyone he meets results in department mandated psychiatric counseling. The upside is his shrink is the comely Dr. Iris Campbell (Wrenn Schmidt) who gets Reese to open up a little and there appears to be some mutual interest beyond doctor/patient developing…about time he gets a break. I’m not sure ultimately most viewers are interested in Mr. Reese getting all touchy/feely and I for one prefer him as the detached operator. Veronica Mars’ dad continues his undercover operation as mob kingpin Elias. Season 4 finds him being forced out by The Brotherhood newcomer Dominic; he never should have left Neptune. Nothing good will come from this you can be assured.Finch(Michael Emerson) does more moralizing this season and it gets tiresome. ”A.I. is bad, but can be good, but also bad and we can’t save everyone and we’re not making a difference, and we can’t be too violent, blah, blah”. The final episodes find Finch and Root trying to save “The Machine” from Samaritan and there’s a major showdown. Unfortunately it’s a preposterous gun fight where at the end Reese and Root with automatic weapons methodically walk into a large team of heavily armed Samaritan soldiers with Finch carrying the “DNA” code of “The Machine” in a hi-tech briefcase. How they can do this without getting grievously wounded or killed is beyond credibility.Another device POI has overused (and other shows have as well) is the car “T-bone” attack. Our protagonists are serenely making their escape and all is well when from nowhere a hijacked garbage truck/dump truck/utility truck/fire truck plows into the side of their vehicle. This method then allows for the henchmen to carry out their evil plans. Despite spectacular bone crushing crashes no one usually sustains any significant injury and can just walk away; I mean, really?!. You’ll see it again in the final installment of this season…enough already. At least Bear the dog fortunately continues to do his usual fine acting job to even things out. In my opinion every show that revolves around Samaritan isn’t very good and the episodes where it’s mostly Reese and Finch saving a “number” are much more entertaining. We need less of the principles getting in touch with their feelings and more realistic action- not superhero hokum and melodramatic speeches. All told I felt the season was 50/50 good vs. semi-poor which pains me to say. It must be challenging to keep coming up with stories every week for 22 episodes and stay true to the primary premise of the show. Unless things change drastically with the fifth season 13 episode run I’m afraid this may be the end of POI.

Person of Interest
After all this time, person of Interest is still an excellecnt and realistic show. It would be nice if the actors came back for one reunion show.

5 Stars, hopefully the network sticks with it.
Looking for a show to watch ever since I finished watching Fringe(One of the best shows ever)and 24, I was looking for anything that even sort of caught my interest and this show got me instantly. Firstly, it wasn't so much the idea of the show that got me, it was Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson. I loved Jim Caviezel as Jesus Christ, and Michael Emerson as the enigmatic Benjamin Linus in Lost. Looking at both of these guys and their work, they've been in a lot of stuff. So, I decided to give it a try. To be honest it didn't take long. Into the first episode, Mr. Reese who's played by Jim Caviezel is a bum riding a train. These punk kids try to take this bums liquor bottle away and all of a sudden he goes international spy on em'. That's it, I was in.The whole premise of the show begins when Michael Emerson, who plays the tech wiz Harold Finch, arranges a meeting with Mr. Reese so he can hire him. Mr. Finch built this massive surveillance machine that records everyone all the time and has information to help people in danger, and even though he sold the machine to the government, he can still access it. This is where Mr. Reese comes in.Not to spoil anything, the shows humor and action goes a long way. Plus, you have to give two thumbs up to Detective Carter, who's played by Tarahi P. Jensen. Two thumbs up to Detective Fusco played by Kevin Chapman, the additions in casting along the way in seasons 2 and 3( Root, Shaw, Bear the dog, Vigilance, Decima, Samaritan). Also, two thumbs up to Caviezel, Emerson, and the writers, who got me hooked on this show, to the point where I bought Seasons 1 2 and 3 on dvd, and I'm also caught up on season 4. Inevitably, I hate watching shows 1 episode a week, and really like watching shows that have finished, because I can watch it whenever and however I want. I can read the reviews. Unfortunately, like Firefly, too many networks kill a show that has incredible potential, or they squeeze the ending into less episodes with less budget(like Fringe, should have atleast had a complete 22,23 episode season. Hopefully, they will commit themselves to Person of Interest til the end.

Went on far too long
This should have been a 13 episode season, not 22. It went on far too long - and the individual episodes about strangers one had never encountered before became distractions. I was a fan of the earlier seasons, and the main story was great, very well thought out. But I'm afraid they lost me halfway through this season, when they kept drifting off the main story. I ended up reading about the episodes on Wikipedia just to see if they were dealing with the main storyline or not, before deciding whether to watch them. The makers of this programme appeared to think, we're on a good thing, let's make more of it. But they should have restricted themselves to 13 episodes, the norm with many other TV programmes. And once they had introduced the main storyline and set that in motion, then they should have paid more attention to it, instead of the "irrelevant" episodes. And they should have let Root and Shaw get together - a little bit of life & joy, instead of doom, gloom and murder. So: Very disappointed & to be honest, I stopped bothering with it half way through. I won't even be finishing this blu-ray, and I definitely won't be buying season 5.

IMPACT NEEDLESSLY REDUCED
This series has so much going for it - a cautionary tale of how computer surveillance can be so abused if in the wrong hands. Harold Finch's machine pinpoints people at risk, he and his team thus able help. Meanwhile the sinister, all-powerful rival Samaritan is dedicated to removing anyone who poses a threat. This includes Finch and associates, they more than ever in considerable danger....Twenty two episodes. Secret new (highly impressive) headquarters for Finch. Ever-accumulating problems - not only from Samaritan but rival gang leaders Elias and Dominic, the latter's Band of Brothers network a force to reckon with.Interesting scripts, some fine acting - Michael Emerson's quirky Harold always of interest. Much action, final episodes very tense.Sadly I could not enjoy the show as much as hoped - this being one of those offerings with a frustratingly intrusive music track. (In bonuses the creators proclaim how proud of it they are.) Admittedly it is great during action scenes, but a confounded annoyance when competing with dialogue - especially when so much is communicated in hushed voices. Why have music at such times - especially when lead actor Jim Caviezel is so prone to husky utterances through a barely opened mouth? So many other shows know well how to use music with restraint. I do wish "Person of Interest" were one of them.Bonuses include a 2014 Comic-Con Question and Answer session to pave the way for this new season, all concerned under strict instructions to give nothing away. Ideally this should perhaps be on Disc 1. A preferable alternative could be a Disc 6 panel looking back on the season just completed. In short? Much will please addicts, as fellow reviewers clearly indicate. Unnecessary obstacles prevent full enjoyment for those not wishing subtitles in order clearly to follow what is being said.

Just a small information about subtitles...
Just an information that is lacking in the Amazon site: this series Dvd has subtitles in english, danish, finnish, norwegian and swedish. There are no subtitles in french, spanish or italian. As I am not from an english speaking country I find very useful when informations about subtitles are available in the Amazon site. Unfortunately that was not the case. So for future references I leave here something useful about the product. Nothing that I could say would be better than the reviews already published so I only will reiterate that this amazing series is one of the best series of the last 10 years!

Could Person of Interest continue to get better after the dramatic developments of Season 3
Could Person of Interest continue to get better after the dramatic developments of Season 3? Indeed it could, and Season 4 is where it leaves its original premise far behind to become a show that, although still grounded in the present day, has a fundamentally science-fictional concept driving its plot. The end of S3 saw the rise of Samaritan, rival AI to The Machine, and S4 is in many ways the story of the battle between two artificial intelligences, as conducted through their human proxies - a battle in which Samaritan has far greater resources. Most of the individual episodes are excellent, but "The Cold War", "If-Then-Else" and season finale "YHWH" are simply stunning.
