THIS IS THE ONE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR
Have you noticed your toddler is suddenly EXTRA interested in buckles everywhere?? Car seat. Shopping cart. Push cars? Well, so did I. I scoured the internet for a “buckle toy” that didn’t cost an unreasonable amount. God knows he’d probably toss it after he masters it anyway. Insert: Barney the crab.Holy cow my kid loves this thing. He’s 1.5 and we’ve had it for about a month now. This is his FAVORITE THING IN THE WORLD. God forbid it ever goes missing. Side note: it is SUPER soft. I thought it would feel like a carnival toy but I was so wrong haha. Super soft for little hands. And I love that each buckle is a different color and type. Some are easier for him and some are more of a challenge and he loves it. Please see attached pictures of our morning ritual: 20-30 minutes of quiet with crabby while mommy gets to drink her coffee haha.

I Know I’ll Be Buying More!
This toy is soft with bright colors that made my 18-mos-old little boy notice it immediately. I would unhook the snaps and have him re-connect them. I told him to “listen for the click.” Click was a new word for him but now he says it when he gets in his car seat or stroller. This little crab helps him practice using his little fingers and now he actively uses the word ‘click.’ Definitely will be buying this for other children when a gift is appropriate.

Favorite Car Toy
My daughter loves this little crab. She is 2 years old but my 5 year old nieces have played with it a lot too. We got it for her because she really likes to play with the buckles on all her things. This toy was a great take with you anywhere toy. Good dexterity practice and kept her entertained. We would have to open some of them for her again but she likes to do it over and over in the car.

For the buckle obsessed child
My daughter was completely obsessed with buckling her high chair and any other buckle she manages to find. This is perfect to keep her occupied for a bit. Admittedly I had a bit of sticker shock...it's well made, but $10-$12 seems more reasonable than $16. But it's a favorite that keeps my 20-month-old occupied for a few minutes, which is about all I can ask for.

Sturdy toy. Stands up to my toddler using it over and over for hours.
This is by far my child’s favorite toy she will spend hours buckling and unbuckling all of the options it has a good variety of buckles for different motor skill development.

UPDATED REVIEW: Amazing Customer Service!
UPDATE: Shortly after posting this review, I emailed the Buckle Toy company to pass along my experience with the quality of the crab I received. I honestly just wanted to inform them of a possible quality control issue to prevent this from happening to other customers. The company responded to me via email within a couple of hours, apolozing for the poor quality of the product I received. They said that this is uncommon, and wanted to replace my crab free of charge (something I didn’t ask for in my email to them). The new crab is much more in line with the quality of the crabs I’ve seen posted in other reviews. I’ve posted updated pictures that show both the first crab I received and the replacement so you can see the difference in quality between the two.I’m very impressed with Buckle Toy’s responsiveness to feedback and willingness to quickly remedy my buying experience. I believe I received a dud the first time, and I am very happy with this toy and Buckle Toy’s customer service!ORIGINAL REVIEW: I was super excited about getting this for my 21 month old, especially since he’s been into playing with the buckles on his high chair and car seat. Though the concept of this toy is amazing, I am very disappointed in the quality control. Here are my positives and negatives about Barney the crab:Positives:- very colorful and engaging- numbers, colors, and objects allow for educational experience- buckles aid in fine motor skill development, and they’re easy enough for a toddler to use- orange fur is very soft and of nice qualityNegatives (all quality control issues with the product I received):- yellow buckle sags and completely covers the blue buckle on the front- poor stitching securing the green buckle on front- embroidered numbers are cut off by legs- buckles on the back don’t cover the “hidden” beach objects when closedFor the price, I would expect the quality to be approved prior to shipment. I felt confident based on other reviewer’s photos that this product would be of decent quality, but I’m disappointed in the crab I received. I likely would have considered other toys from the Buckle Toy line, but I don’t want to take the gamble of receiving another poorly inspected product.
