The computer cable lock has a steel construction and is strong. Will secure any laptop or notebook. Lock is via combination. Cable measures 4 feet long and is 4MM thick. Please note that will be do our best to ensure that the lock fits most laptop as it is in fact a standard lock. Some brands of laptop make their locking hole slightly different to the standard locking hole that 99.9% of laptops use. This is something a generic device such as our laptop lock can not avoid. This is a list of laptops we are are of that the device does not work on: NOT SUITABLE FOR MACS, DELL LATITUDE, DELL XPS 13, LENOVO THINKPAD, XPS 18 1810 OR GATEWAY NE56R52U (Please note that other customers with Gateway laptops have advised us the lock works fine it's only the model NE56R52U that seems to not work with our lock). Please don't purchase the laptop lock if you have one of these model and if you find the product doesn't work upon purchasing the lock please contact us via messages.

This is a piece of Chinese junk. It did not work from the start. Even the directions are written by someone who does not speak/write English. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM.

Good defense against theft
Great cable as a last line of defense against theft. I put this on my 27" monitor at my home just in case somebody tries to run off with it. The cable is thicker than anticipated it would take a decent pair of hedge trimmers or wire cutters to get through them. the combination lock is user friendly as well took me a minute to set up and hook to my monitor.

Pleasantly surprised
I'm sure this could easily be cut by a pair of heavy side cutters, but it's perfect for short duration security. Sometime I just need to walk away from a library carol for a few minutes and don't want to be hassled by packing up.I was worried that the diameter of the lock body would not allow my laptop to rest on the tabletop (an average-thickness ultrabook), but no problems. Lightweight, not super-stiff cord, perfect length.
