Spurgeon’s wife.Find it difficult to get into. Too many notes from the present day author. Wanted to hear strictly from Mrs. Spurgeon

Susanah Spurgeon
What an amazing book written by an amazing woman of the faith. This book will be an encouragement to anyone who loves the Lord. It is written in a devotional format after her husband (C H Spurgeon) had passed away, but is rich with Scriptural principles that are sure to encourage the downcast. Buy it for someone you love!

Great book!
Wonderful, clear and truthful reading. I would recommend this book and this christian author to anyone. Mrs. Spurgeon was quite the knowledgeable believer who could compose her christian thoughts in an in-depth manner to everyone to understand.

A Consecrated Life
The life of Susannah Spurgeon, so aptly recounted in "A Basket of Summer Fruit," inspires the reader to wonder if we suppose ourselves to be farther from heaven than we really ought? To live a consecrated life, as Susannah did, is to pursue holiness so aggressively and sincerely that Christ's presence is a sweet reality in the here and now. As we see Susannah's Christian life unfold in "A Basket of Summer Fruit," it becomes apparent that she was able to endure and even rejoice in extraordinary earthly trials because her similarly extraordinary fellowship with Christ had prepared her to do so. And so, as we count her among the "great cloud of witnesses" (Hebr 12:1), we join her at the throne of Christ and "adoringly bow before Him in wonder at the miracle His love has wrought."

"A Basket of Summer Fruit"--sweet to the senses!
No matter in what "season" of life one finds herself, this book by Susannah Spurgeon is thought-provoking, convicting, encouraging and comforting. To see someone with the responsibility and dedication of Mrs. Spurgeon, walk through life hand-in-hand with the Lord, weathering trials and bearing her cross; one can't help but to want and strive to deepen their intimate relationship and communion with the Lord. This book is encouraging from the youngest reader to the well-seasoned saint!

Excellent Book!
I absolutely loved reading this book. It didn't bore me at all, and had some super encouraging things in it. Susannah was such an inspirational wife to one of the greatest preachy, Charles Spurgeon. Even when her husband died, Susannah remained loyal to the Lord and didn't waver in her faith. She ends this devotional type book with some sweet words, urging young and old ladies alike to not just know about God, but to really know him. And know that he delights and loves them.I highly recommend this book to women and girls of all ages.
