Duke Cannon Supply Co. Men's Shampoo Puck, Gold Rush - Over 175 Washes, Sulfate-Free, 4.5 oz (Pack of 1)

My previous go-to shampoo was Body Shop Ginger Shampoo (ASIN: B00M78895Q). It was recommended to me because ginger apparently helps with thinning hair in Chinese herbal medicine. I'm not sure if it had an effect on that, but I liked the product and kept using it until it doubled in price within the last year.When looking for alternatives, the Duke Cannon soap pucks caught my attention because of their charming aesthetic. They look like something from an old-time pharmacy. There's something catchy about the name too: a solid-looking product proudly presented by a (fictional or historical?) authority figure, like Doctor Bronner's soap. The far-fetched claims of how lathery it is ("the undisputed king of lather!") add to the charm.I've been using it for a few months and it's been working well. I rub a few wet fingers over it until some of the shampoo is extracted, then apply it to my head. (I don't add water to the tin directly). The puck started out stiff but softened up a bit over time, probably from gradually accumulating moisture while using it. It doesn't take a lot to get a good lather going. Having it in a metal tin makes it especially convenient both for keeping around the shower and for traveling. Also nice that they are avoiding plastic waste this way. A downside to this form factor is that stubble and stray hairs can get transferred onto the bar, so it's not ideal for sharing among multiple people. I would describe the field mint scent as subtle but refreshing - could be masculine but also not too gender-specific. It's good to see a that product like this is proudly made in the USA. If I go back to ginger shampoo as my daily driver, I'd still keep one or two of these tins on hand for travel.

My husband and I both like this solid shampoo a lot. The scent is nice, it rinses clean, and it lathers beautifully. In fact, we discovered that if you put it in a little drawstring mesh bag—like those jewelry sometimes comes in, or you can buy a pack of 100 here on Amazon—it lathers up even better. And when it finally gets thin enough to break into pieces, the bag makes it easy to use to the very end.

We travel a lot and cannot always count on the quality of the shampoo and soap we get at our destination. These are perfect for that. They last a long time, they’re terrific shampoo, they smell great, and you can stick them in a suitcase so that worrying about leaking.

Update - Bought in July, just now finishing it up. Averaged 3-4 uses per week, total of roughly 70-75 uses. Still like the product and the scent. I am using a new puck as we speak.I have been using this Puck since July. I have a short, military style haircut and wash my hair with shampoo 4-5 times a week. I do not need much in the way of shampoo. That being said, this Puck (Barrel Char No. 004) has a good scent (outdoorsy) and is going strong. I estimate that I will still be using this same Puck into November or December. Some may be turned off by the fact that there is not much lather from this product, but it does the job. The more you use, the more lather you will have. The tin that it comes in is also good for storage if you keep it out of water. Not sure if it would rust or not. Overall, good product and I will continue to order and use.

Initially found Duke Cannon from my local Boscovs dept store. Decided to try the shampoo later after the Boscovs bar was gone and Amazon had it better priced so I've already ordered in the past. Fell absolutely in love then saw another review talk about how they use it as an all over wash. I started doing that as well lathering up my hair and then both hands then grabbing my wash cloth and between what's on my head and hair I have no problems washing my whole body. Its replaced all old products and this last prime day snagged 4 orders (12 more). This is why I also decided to review it. This is all I plan on using for all my bathing healthcare needs going forward it's just that good. Plus it's super convenient to travel with!! My girl packs a ton of products when we go away I just now need a single piuck and I'm ready to go. Absolutely love the field mint it's by far my personal favorite. You really can't go wrong with the Duke's products.
