Planning my vacation

This book is the best one I could find on traveling to Northern Greece. None of the other guides out there seem to focus specifically on this region. One guide on Greece that I ordered before only had 6 pages on Thessaloniki which was my destination. This guide covers that city and the region much better.

To—Stergios G. Kaprinis. I loved your review and I’m going to purchase the book as well to seean outsiders perspective . I live in the states, first generation. My father was from there. From a tiny village that doesn’t show up on the map in the Pelio. I grew up going there in the summers. I’ve been there 9 times not including the 2 years that lived there by choice. I wanted to see Greece from the other side of vacationing. I worked there A LOT! Lol. Even sold Avon to make ends meet, I’ve always worked in the food industry and while living in Greece, for the first time I worked at a fancy hotel which taught me a lot . , learned a lot of the language & It is truly half of my heart. What got me is I understand mass tourism can be a little much but Greece’s economy thrives from tourism, and since the “pandemic” Greece needs it more than ever. I went back in 2019 for a vacation and to settle my dad’s property and hadn’t been there since I lived there from 2008-2010 because of my career. I couldn’t believe how much I missed it and enjoyed every moment of it. I was going to go last year and obviously couldn’t. Was going to go this year and wasunable to. I hope to go next year. I miss my aunt and cousin very much.

Not many pictures or depth

Although we were on a managed tour of Northern Greece, this book came in handy both for the maps and information and for when we had free days. Nice not to have to carry around a book about the whole of Greece, well written.

The book has been very useful for finding places to visit from a base. Reads well, and so far, all information has been correct

Infos incomplètes, cartes illisibles et totalement inutilisables. Ce guide n'est ni culturel ni pratique. Je regrette complètement mon achat.

Just what as required & in good condition

I bought this guide because I was curious to read about my region through the eyes of a foreign person. I must say the guide is amazing. It is concise, precise, provides all the useful information without bloviating, it is enthusiastic but not too sentimental, I think it is perfect. My region, Northern Greece, is indeed a very beautiful part of the world that mass tourism has thankfully neglected. Discerning visitors however never regret their choice to come here.
