Great feeder
Really like this feeder. Had a hard time figuring out the levels for training, it didn't come with very clear instructions, but that's probably my fault more than anything. I found a video online and it showed how to do it more clearly. I think I have stupid chickens because they refuse to use it as a pedal feeder though. 🤦🏼♀️ lol that being said, I just prop the pedal down with a rock to keep it open. This has kept the feed waste down so much. I do have it set on a black shoe "mat" so it's not actually sitting on the ground, I just felt that was better than being straight on the ground. Overall, very satisfied with the feeder itself.

Good quality, works great!
The media could not be loaded. My hens learned to use it pretty quickly, barely a week in and they are already using it in full function (due to rain I had to keep it closed and would open it to the halfway mark intermittently). The sparrows and dove will have to fund a free lunch somewhere else! (Ok, I will toss a little food out for them outside the pin from time to time).I do not think it will hold 25lbs of food like it says. Close if you used just scratch, 10-15lbs of pellets (I would guess thats two weeks or three of food for 4 hens(?)).

Nice
Good little feeder. Priced right. Works better than I’d have expected.

Not for extremely stupid chickens
My chickens are dumb. I have four chickens, and none have exhibited any signs of intelligence their entire lives. 3 of them are stone dumb, and the fourth is at least food motivated enough to try to figure things out where food is concerned, but she is also extremely stupid. So, needless to say, using a feeder that requires a bit of problem solving is not working out very well. I set this feeder up and, as instructed, set the training bolt in its top position so the hatch is always open and doesn't move. But the chickens do not trust the feeder, and will not approach it from the front. They instead sneak up on the sides and reach their heads around to eat, meaning they are not stepping on the lift plate. So, I created some flaps to further enclose the feeder, so they can't approach from the sides. Eventually, all of them did start eating from the feeder while stepping on the plate. Hooray! So then I moved the training bolt to the next lower position: still open enough for them to eat, but closed enough that stepping on the plate causes movement (and noise). Now the feeder is possessed by demons, and every time the chickens step on that plate, they run away in total fear. Days have gone by. The one chicken who is food motivated will by mid-day step on the plate without running away, however every morning it is like this has never happened again and she runs away in fear. She has to learn every day anew that the feeder will not eat her.The other three will not eat from the feeder in training bolt position 2. It's too scary. They are literally starving themselves to death rather than eat from the demonic feeder.I am going to give it a few more days, and feed them a bit of food as scratch to keep them from dying (obviously), but I don't have high hopes for this. To get past training bolt setting 2 and on to the fully closed position is impossible to imagine at this point. My chickens are just too stupid and too scared.

chicken feeder - Perfect obtion! Except only feeds 4 Chickens at a time comfortably.
Keeps rodents, mice, and preditors out and it's protected from weather and rust proof. It's everything the product describes. Great Job in designing and making these feeders. Easy assembly with a little time and love the chicken trainer bolts to keep it open until my chickens feel comfortable and safe eating out of the feeder. Holds 20 lbs so I don't have to keep filling the feeder up with food. Love it!

Works great!
I love this feeder. I no longer have a problem with mice or sparrows eating the food. It took my chickens longer to learn than what the instructions suggest. But, what's another week or two? Chickens aren't the brightest creatures. Haha! I would definitely recommend this!

Not worth the cost
Unless your chickens live in isolation, this feeder is just as "superhandy" for rats, possums, and raccoons as it is for chickens. Also, your floor needs to be completely level, free of bedding, and protected from rain...

Easy to Train
We used this to train our chicks starting at ~7 weeks old. The training bolts were extremely helpful, and the chickens took to it immediately. They really weren’t shocked by the noise, since it’s honestly very quiet for what it is. The treadle is sturdy, but one chicken is still enough to raise the lid. The sides are high, which is nice because it reinforces that the chickens need to be on the treadle to get any feed. Has kept everything relatively dry and protected despite very rainy weather this spring. I’m happy, I think it was well worth the investment.

Fonction parfait, identique photo
Fini les moineaux même si je les adore, en 15 jours les poules ont compris le procédé. Semble de très bonne qualité. Très satisfaite je le recommande pour les économies de grains et anti-rat , c'était l'objectif

Noisy
Took the chicken over a month to get the hand of using this; it’s very loud when it closes so I put some tape around it, hopefully now they’ve got the hang of it the rats will bugger off, be patient though they will get it

No more feeding rats or sparrows
Brilliant idea. Easy to set up and use. I just wish it held more, but I'm sure it's simple to extend the hopper.
