DIY Door Stop Kit (Intermediate) - Upfitting Components for DIY Van conversions (Fits Sprinter, Transit, ProMaster)

Let’s hit the high points first. I installed this door stop kit on my 2020 Ford cargo van, and it does exactly what it was advertised to do. It gives you an intermediate stopping point when you open the door, which is something I have been trying unsuccessfully to do with bungee cords. It comes with the most complete, illustrated , and detailed directions I have ever seen, and was a piece of cake to install. Everything thing you need for the installation is included.Now to the trade offs you need to be aware of. This puppy is expensive, no getting away from that. In my case it was worth it, your mileage may vary. It does take a day to cure before you can use the door, and by day I mean 24 hours. Finally, slinging the door to fully open is something you will want to avoid. My rather firm style resulted in the door crashing over the intermediate stop, shaking and jarring the door. Over time this is bound have a deleterious effect on the whole door assembly. The key to success is to gently slide open the door. It will first quietly settle in the intermediate stop, and move on to the full stop with just a little additional effort, avoiding wear and tear on your door.I live in my van. If I open my door, 95% of the time I do not want it to fully open. If for whatever reason you feel the same, I have no hesitation in recommending this product.

Glad we bought the original product from the inventor, vs one of the cheap knock-offs we saw on Amazon. The kit was very clearly packaged and the items, including the door stop, were easy to find. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. I was glad to have the included protective glove since I usually get epoxy all over myself, haha. In any case, this was easily installed, and it works great, even in my steep driveway. I just open the door, gently push it to the point where the door stop catches the door, and it stays right where I put it. Sweet!

Works well probably a little rough on the door works long term. I did have trouble with 1st one packagingof JB weld had leaked but they send a complete replacement no charge.

I couldn’t believe what I spent on this tiny piece of metal but it was totally worth it. I have a Ram Promaster 2500 that is a built out home on wheels. There were many times I wanted my sliding door just partially open but I was never in a level enough area to make that happen so it was either wide open or closed. This thing was easy to install, catches perfectly at the spot you place it and is easy to slide beyond to have your sliding door wide open when wanted. Seriously couldn’t believe what I spent on it but it has been one of my most useful purchases for my van.

Simple but so functional. This is a game changer and I love it! I chose this product verses an international brand because this company created it. They deserve credit even if a bit more. If you have a van with a slider, you must have this product 😃❤️

This is the second Vancillary product that I have purchased and have been exceptionally pleased both times.Although you receive the items and initially say “WHAT? I paid $XXX for THAT!?!?”, you will soon understand that you are not paying for the item (a simple piece of metal), you are paying for thoughtfully designed products created to make your van easier and more enjoyable to own. Kudos to Vancillary for making a simple product in order to ease the simple troubles that Vanlifers face on a daily basis. I’m actually debating doubling up on the slider door stop so that I can have multiple positions available. I’m not yet sure if having more than one might create unnecessary stress on my door.Also, you might think “I have to wait 24 whole hours for proper adhesion? I’ll never be able to do it.” It was a pain in the butt to use my rear barn doors for access in order to follow the instructions…but it was worth every minute to be patient.Note: Instructions are written for Sprinters. While the product still worked on my Transit, a tiny modification in placement was needed in order to achieve the best results.Overall: Very, VERY happy!

The door stop kit is very complete and good quality, instructions are very clear and installation is easy. The price however is considerable.

Really the factory missed on this, so smaller companies like this can provide a solution. We’ve had this on 2 Vans. Holds the door even on a nice slope
